摘要： An assembly for feeding backing ribbon for adhesive labels for labeling products to be labeled includes a splicing device and at least two supporting elements for the backing ribbon. The splicing device is intended to perform on command the splice between a first splicing region, formed on a first backing ribbon, and a second splicing region, formed on a second backing ribbon. The first backing ribbon supports a plurality of adhesive labels which are arranged, mutually spaced, on the face directed toward the second splicing region. The first backing ribbon has at least one portion that is free from self-adhesive labels and forms the first splicing region; the portion is located substantially at the end of the first backing ribbon.

摘要： A method of jointing a cord fabric when the cord fabric for topping is alternately drawn from two supply positions for continuous supply. During drawing to supply of the cord fabric on one side, a start end portion of the cord fabric on other side is locked to hold by a locking pin of a jointing holder, and is set to a jointing mounting portion in a state where an unvulcanized jointing rubber member is pasted thereto. When a final end of the cord fabric on the one side comes closer, a finish end portion thereof is pasted to the start end portion of the cord fabric held by the holder by interposing the rubber member therebetween. The finish end portion and the start end portion are squeezed for joint from upper and lower sides by press members, thereafter, the holder is removed, and the cord fabric on the other side is drawn to supply continuously to the cord fabric on the one side.

摘要： An adhesive tape applying apparatus includes a stage on which a terminal end portion of a first tape member and a leading end portion of a second tape member are placed so as to be superimposed on each other, an ultrasonic tool in which a plurality of protruding portions are provided on its contact surface that is to be put into contact with the leading end portion or terminal end portion of the superposed tape members, an ultrasonic vibration generator for applying ultrasonic vibrations in a tape's thicknesswise direction to the ultrasonic tool, and a pressing device for making a stage-directed pressing force act on the ultrasonic tool. As a result, the terminal end portion of the in-use first tape member and the leading end portion of the second tape member rolled out from a new reel can be spliced together with a simple, low-cost construction while the possibility of occurrence of trouble in tape feed is eliminated.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for splicing a web of layered material so that a new roll of material may be joined to an expiring web via a butt joint. A shear wheel is driven to ensure that the shear wheel positively rotates as it cuts across web material that is held against the side of an anvil. In the illustrated embodiment, a drive cable and shear wheel assembly are operably connected to a splicing apparatus, a portion of the drive cable being threaded through the splicing apparatus and wrapped around at least a portion of the shear wheel, the threaded drive cable being maintained under tension. The rapid movement of the shear wheel assembly, and the wrapping engagement between the taut threaded drive cable and shear wheel, forces the shear wheel to positively spin, thereby improving the cutting capabilities of the attached rotary cutter.
