The improved mixer section includes at least one conveying flight and at least one spill flight intersecting with the conveying flight. At least one notch is formed in the conveying flight to enable mixing between adjacent flow channels. The spill flight terminates near the output of the mixer to create a trap zone for any unmelts that reach that area of the mixer.

The screw having a feed section, barrier melting section, reorientation section and metering section disposed sequentially downstream. The screw includes an axial core, and a helical main flight that extends radially from the core and is formed with recesses located at the first periphery and extending through the thickness of the main flight and radially toward the core. A helical secondary flight extends radially from the core between successive helical passes of the main flight, and is formed with recesses extending through the secondary flight and toward the core. Materials conveyed along the metering section can cross through the main flight at the recesses and recirculate, in addition to passing over the periphery of the secondary flight, for still further enhanced and homogenous mixing, before reaching the outlet.

摘要： The present invention is a continuous in-line compounding and extrusion system that does not require pre-dried wood flour or pelletized feed stock of cellulosic/polymer composite materials in order to produce net shapes from cellulosic/polymer composite materials. An exemplary embodiment of the present invention utilizes automated loss-in-weight feeders to dispense wood flour and all of the other cellulosic/polymer composite materials into a compounder. The compounder blends the cellulosic/polymer composite materials into a composite melt. The composite melt is continuously devolitalized as it travels through the compounder, a transition chute, and a finish extruder. The composite melt is then forced through a profile die which is fitted to the finish extruder in order to achieve a net shape.

摘要： A method and apparatus is provided for the continuous extrusion of porous activated carbon block filter elements. The invention includes feeding material into the barrel of a screw extruder and heating the material therein such that the material becomes an agglomerated mass. The agglomerated mass is agitated and compacted into a die where it is cooled to a semi-solidified state. In the semi-solidified state, the material is passed through a cooling tunnel where the material solidifies and the carbon block filter element is formed. A back pressure control device is also included to control pressure in the die.

摘要： A method for the manufacture of shaped bodies by extrusion moulding of plastic-filler mixtures with filler contents of more than 50% by volume, preferably from 65 to 90% by volume, by means of an extruder with a conveying input zone. The method is restricted to use of fillers having good thermal conductivity. For carrying out the method, initially a mixture is manufactured from molten or fluid synthetic resin and the filler and this is ground and graded after cooling. Afterwards, there is extrusion of the ground mixture or of fractions separated from this and graded. According to a preferred variant of the method, an extruder is used for the extruding having a conveying input zone whose extrusion part consists merely of an input zone and an output zone. According to a further variant of the method, plates are manufactured by cutting up lengthwise a tubular extrusion emerging from the mouthpiece in the extruding and the casing of the extrudate thus obtained is bent flat and this extrudate is then cut up into plate lengths.
