摘要： A medical fluid pump apparatus is provided for use with a fluid delivery set including a fluid reservoir, a delivery outlet, and tubing connecting the reservoir to the outlet. The apparatus includes a pump supported on a housing, and a shelf spaced from the pump and provided with a pair of spaced, transverse slots sized for receipt of the tubing of the fluid delivery set so that the tubing of the fluid delivery set may be received in the slots and placed in operative engagement with the peristaltic pump. A latch is supported on the housing for movement between a closed position in which the latch blocks the slots to prevent the removal of the tubing and an open position in which the latch exposes the slots.

摘要： Described herein are concepts, systems, circuits and techniques for a docking station configured to couple to an enteral feeding pump or other medical device. In one embodiment, the docking station includes a wireless transmitter for communicating data, such as operating parameters and/or status, to a remote monitor over a wireless communication link, to permit remote monitoring of certain pump diagnostics. In some embodiments, the docking station may utilize the wireless communication link to permit control and/or data exchange with the feeding pump. This may be in addition to or in place of the remote monitoring. The pump may also contain a receiver for receiving data such as operating parameter instructions, general operating instructions, and/or commands.

摘要： An enteral pump system for delivering medical fluids unidirectionally includes a disposable fluid delivery set having a repeatable compression portion and an enteral feeding pump. The repeatable compression portion is helically coiled around a central axis to define a cylindrical shape. The compression portion is configured to pump a large volume of medical fluids per stroke. The compressing portion includes at least two adjacent tubing walls joined around the central axis for repeatable compression. The enteral feeding pump is configured to repeatedly and reliably compress the compression portion of the fluid delivery set along the central axis. In operation, the compression portion is repeatably compressed without distortion along the central axis by the enteral feeding pump to flow unidirectionally through the fluid delivery set.

摘要： An internal bolster for use securing a medical device, such as a feeding tube, within a body of a patient is disclosed. In one embodiment, a feeding tube includes an internal bolster, comprising one or more bolster arms that each include a first end hingedly connected to a distal end of the medical device and a free second end. The bolster arms are selectively deployable between a first position wherein the bolster arms are substantially in-line with an axis of feeding tube, and a second position wherein the bolster arms are substantially deflected from the axis of the feeding tube to enable securement of the feeding tube within a stoma or other opening defined in the body. Various means for selectively moving the bolster arms between the first and second positions are disclosed. Related methods of use are also disclosed.

摘要： A method and system for determining the residual volume within a patient having a naso-enteral feeding tube. A collection container is coupled to the naso-enteral feeding tube and a physical force is applied to the collection container to prevent stomach fluid from flowing into the collection container. The physical force is removed from the collection container and the stomach fluid is allowed to flow into the collection container. The volume of fluid within the collection container is determined, which represents the gastric residual volume of the patient. At least a portion of the collected volume of stomach fluid is returned to the patient from the collection container.
