The method involves mixing zinc particles with binders including preferably polyvinylalcohol, surfactant and water to form a wet paste. The wet paste is molded into the near shape of the cell's anode cavity and then heated to evaporate water. A solid porous zinc mass is formed having microscopic void spaces between the zinc particles. The solid mass can be inserted into the cell's anode cavity and aqueous alkaline electrolyte, preferably comprising potassium hydroxide, then added. The solid mass absorbs the aqueous electrolyte and expands to fill the anode cavity to form the final fresh anode.

The temporal waveform of the free-space radiation is then reconstructed using, for example, a dynamic subtraction of the spectral distribution of the chirped optical probe signal without modulation from the spectral distribution of the chirped optical probe signal with modulation by the free-space radiation.

摘要： Methods and devices that provide a variable-bandwidth optical filter with frequency tuning are disclosed. A universal variable bandwidth optical filter architecture is disclosed, based on microring resonators that can vary both operation wavelength and bandwidth with no extra complexity relative to conventional wavelength tunable filters. The filter architecture provides a universal filter design for any arbitrary shape of filter response, such as second-order, fourth-order, sixth-order, and so on. The filter characteristics—insertion loss, in-band ripple, and out-of-band rejection level—may be maintained over the bandwidth tuning range. There is no need for extra heaters to tune the filter's operating bandwidth, as the same heaters used to tune the filter frequency can be used to tune filter bandwidth. The device can be used as an add/drop filter.

摘要： The present disclosure relates to a method, an apparatus and a system for monitoring performance of optical network equipment. The method comprises receiving an optical channel signal comprising a first pilot tone in a first spectral sub-band of the optical channel signal and a second pilot tone in a second spectral sub-band of the optical channel signal, the first and the second spectral sub-bands being on opposite sides of a reference frequency of the optical channel signal. The performance of the optical network equipment is monitored based on a power mismatch between the first and second pilot tones of the received optical channel signal. An apparatus and a system for monitoring performance of the optical network equipment are also described.
