摘要： An electrophotographic recording apparatus having a photoconductive element, means for providing an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductive element which corresponds to image light, a developing device for developing the latent image to produce a visible image, means for transferring the visible image onto a paper, and means for cleaning the surface of the photoconductive element after the transfer of the visible image. Developers of different colors are selectively supplied to the single developing device to selectively record images in different colors. When a predetermined period of time has expired with no recording action taken after the completion of color recording, a developer collection system is communicated to a cleaning liquid vessel. This shortens the period of time necessary for the next change of recording color and recording operation while allowing a minimum of damage to result from a trouble in the developer collection system.

摘要： A developing apparatus in a transfer-type electrophotographic system having a photosensitive body, wherein the developing apparatus includes a developing roller spaced a small distance from the photosensitive body for supplying a developing solution to the photosensitive body to develop a latent image thereon and to induce a potential on the developing roller through the developing solution from the photosensitive body. A cleaning member is held against the developing roller. In one embodiment, the potential of the developing roller is limited to a level intermediate between predetermined upper and lower limits, and a developing roller is switched into an electrically floating condition except during development of an image. In another embodiment, a developing bias potential is produced responsive to the potential of the developing roller. This bias potential is applied to the developing roller which is used as a developing electrode.

The scraper and the developing roller jointly form a space of a V-shaped cross section which serves to form a pool of the developing solution. When the developing roller is rotated, the developing solution is drawn upwardly out of the solution pool and uniformly covers the circumferential surface of the developing roller whereupon it is transferred to the latent-image carrier. The apparatus provides a simple way of eliminating air bubbles from the developing solution before it is applied to the latent-image carrier and for applying the developing solution uniformly to the surface of the latent-image carrier.

摘要： A transfer apparatus is provided of the type in which a toner image formed on a photosensitive member is transferred onto a transfer or copy sheet. The apparatus is used in a copying machine of a so-called delivery type in which the sheet is conveyed using a sheet gripper. During the transfer of a toner image, the appartus applies a corona discharge to the rear side of the sheet which is of the opposite polarity from that of the toner image. The apparatus comprises a diaphragm member for restricting an opening of a transfer charger and disposed between the transfer charger and the photosensitive member, the diaphragm member being movable away from the photosensitive member as the sheet gripper passes between the transfer charger and the photosensitive member.

A transfer sheet is conveyed along and contacting a part of a circumferential surface of the image carrier facing the transfer device when transferring a toner image from the image carrier to the transfer sheet. 摘要： One or more rows of focussing optical fibers are disposed between an original document carrier and a photoconductive member. An illumination lamp illuminates an original document on the carrier and the fibers focus an image of a linear portion of the document onto the photoconductive member. Relative movement between the document carrier, fibers and photoconductive member perpendicular to the row or rows of fibers is produced to scan the document. An aperture assembly is provided between the fibers and the photoconductive member difining an aperture wide enough that unevenness of the intensity of the image on the photoconductive member due to the individual fibers is eliminated. The intensity of the light image is controlled by utilization of a variable transformer or triac provided to the illumination lamp.
