Those cell units 11 are arranged in a row and united together with a pair of end plates 1 and 2 arranged at the opposite sides of the assembly of the cells by belt-like clamp bands 37, 38 each extending cross from one of the end plates 1 through the cell units 11 to the other of the end plates 2 and being fixed at the end thereof on the end plates 1, 2. Each end plate 1 or 2 is of one-piece structure having 1) a generally rectangular panel portion or portions 26 and 2) a peripheral wall frame 26 and 3) reinforcement ribs 23a to 23c, so that the assembly of the cell can be united so as to be prevented from deformation due to expansion and vibration of the cells.

摘要： A sealed rechargeable battery module wherein a safety vent device is provided to release the internal pressure of the battery when the pressure has reached a predetermined value. The safety vent device includes a valve case formed with a vent and a sealing protrusion surrounding this vent. A valve body inserted in the valve case includes a sealing portion that is brought in tight contact with the sealing protrusion, a rigid holder for supporting the sealing portion, a and a resilient portion for pressing the rigid holder toward the vent. A valve cover is formed with apertures for closing the upper open end of the valve case. In a state, the resilient portion of the valve body is compressed.

摘要： The present invention provides a unit battery of sealed alkaline storage battery comprising a plurality of cells each of which comprises a container in which are inserted an alkali electrolyte and an electrode group comprising a plurality of positive plates and a plurality of negative plates with separators provided between the adjacent plates and which is sealed by a cap provided with a safety valve, the adjacent cells being electrically connected, wherein at least a part of the outermost portion of the electrode group in the cell contacts with the container, the adjacent cells contact with each other at at least a part of their container and a space through which air can pass in at least one direction is provided between the adjacent cells, the unit battery being constrained by holders at a part or the whole surface of both ends in the direction of arranging of the cells. The present invention further provides a sealed alkaline storage battery system comprising an assembled battery which consists of a plurality of the unit batteries.

摘要： A storage battery assembly includes a plurality of electrochemical cells bundled in side-by-side fashion together in a row and electrically connected in series with each other by means of generally elongated electroconductive connecting pieces each connecting a pole terminal of a pair of pole terminals of an electrochemical cell with another pole terminal of a pair of pole terminals of a next adjoining electrochemical cell. Each electrochemical cell includes a generally rectangular box-like electrolyte vessel having an opening, an electrode structure accommodated within the electrolyte vessel and including positive electrode plates and negative electrode plates, a quantity of electrolyte accommodated within the electrolyte vessel, a top lid enclosing the opening of the electrolyte vessel, and pole terminals protruding outwardly from the respective top lid. An insulating cover made of synthetic resin and having a plurality of vent perforations defined therein is provided on the storage battery assembly so as to cover respective tops of the electrochemical cells with the vent perforations positioned substantially above the connecting pieces.
