    • A perpetual calendar is provided which employs movably mounted, elongated strips for displaying the days of the month and corresponding days of the week in a side by side relationship. A first strip has permanently affixed to its outer surface the numbers 1-31 representing days of the month, and a second strip has permanently affixed to its outer surface indicia representing days of the week. The relative positions of the first and second strips can be adjusted to positions appropriate for any month of any year. The calendar also preferably has a third strip having an indicator permanently affixed to its outer surface for indicating the current day of the month and corresponding day of the week.

The improvement is characterized by one of a combination, or curved, or lightweight mirror module in which the curved mirror focuses the energy more precisely, attenuates differential expansion due to temperature change, yet is simple and economical to build and is light enough in weight to enable building larger modules for the heliostats, as well as building larger heliostats. The specific improvement is characterized by a curved mirror formed over a plurality of templates with longitudinal support beams holding it into the predetermined curvature with transversely extending structural beams and attachment bolt for attaching it to the heliostat. Also disclosed are specific preferred methods steps and structural components.

    • A connector to provide a fast-make coupling by which releasably to interconnect a control device to a push-pull control cable assembly. The control device has at least a sheath member and a plunger movable longitudinally within a passage through the sheath member. A connector housing is substantially permanently secured to the casing of the push-pull control cable assembly and releasably attached to the sheath member so as to be longitudinally aligned with the passageway therein. A shuttle plug, which is secured to the core of the push-pull control cable assembly is slidably received within the connector housing and the passageway in the sheath member to which the connector housing is releasably attached. A lug is presented from the plunger and interacts with a socket in the shuttle plug to effect an interconnection that is readily engaged and released, but only when the connector housing is not attached to the sheath member.

    • A system or circuit for simulating a potentiometer, thermistor, or the like. A pulse stream, having a duty cycle which is varied as a changing pulse width or as a differing number of time slices per time period, may be input to the system. The pulse stream to a transistor or switch-like mechanism may allow a controlled connection of a fixed value resistor to a reference voltage or ground to provide various resultant values of impedance or resistance. A measuring circuit connected to the output of the system may determine a value which is of the fixed value resistor divided by the duty cycle of the pulse train effectively controlling the connection of the resistor to ground. One or more additional circuits may be connected in parallel to achieve greater accuracy.
