    • A hard sintered component of a cemented carbide or a stellite alloy having a complex three-dimensional shape and a small hole or the like and the high strength originally provided by the used material for making the component without any secondary working, is formed by injection molding a compact molding die having an inner mold surface roughness R.sub.max of not more than 3 .mu.m. Where a core pin is used the outer surface of the pin has a surface roughness R.sub.max of not more than 3 .mu.m. The compact is then sintered. The hard sintered component is composed of a cemented carbide or a stellite alloy. In such a hard sintered component, the surface of a complex three-dimensional shape such as a disc portion or a thin portion, or the inner surface of a small hole, is defined by a sintered surface which has a surface roughness R.sub.max of not more than 4 .mu.m.

    • A dynamic random access memory comprises a memory cell region and a sense amplifier region defined on a substrate, a first insulation layer provided on the semiconductor substrate to cover both the memory cell region and the sense amplifier region, a first conductor pattern provided on the first insulation layer, an intermediate connection pattern provided on the first insulation layer in correspondence to the sense amplifier region, a spin-on-glass layer provided on the first insulation layer to extend over both the memory cell region and the sense amplifier region, and a projection part provided on the substrate of the sense amplifier region in correspondence to the intermediate connection pattern under the first insulation layer for lifting the level of the surface of the first insulation layer such that the intermediate interconnection pattern is exposed above the upper major surface of the spin-on-glass layer. Further, a second insulation layer is provided on the spin on glass layer to bury the first conductor pattern and the intermediate conductor pattern, and a contact hole is provided on the second insulation layer to expose the intermediate conductor pattern. The intermediate conductor pattern is connected electrically to a second conductor pattern provided on the second insulation layer via the contact hole.

    • A cermet alloy and a drill formed of the cermet alloy include hard dispersed phases and binder metal phases. The hard dispersed phases include a metal atom group containing titanium and a nonmetal atom group containing nitrogen. The amount of titanium contained in the metal atom group is at least 0.5 and not more than 0.95 as an atomic ratio. The amount of nitrogen contained in the nonmetal atom group is at least 0.1 and not more than 0.7 as an atomic ratio. The hard dispersed phases further include a fine grained portion having a mean grain size of at least 0.2 .mu.m and not more than 0.6 .mu.m and a coarse grained portion having a mean grain size of at least 1 .mu.m and not more than 3 .mu.m. The volume ratio of the fine grained portion to the course grained portion is at least 0.3 and not more than 3. The proportion of the binder metal phases contained in the cermet is at least 5 percent by weight and not more than 30 percent by weight. This cermet drill has an excellent wear resistance, toughness and thermal cracking resistance.

    • A storage medium stores map data divided into unit areas. A control circuit indicates a map on an image display unit according to the map data. The map data includes name records, which respectively correspond to names to be indicated in the map. Each of the name records includes information specifying a character string of corresponding one of the names and information specifying an indication range of the character string in the map. An updating unit updates a part of the unit areas of the map data. An extracting unit extracts a pair of the same character strings, which are overlapped and indicated in the map or closely indicated in the map, with reference to the name records, after update of the part of the unit areas of the map data. A prohibiting unit prohibits indication of one of the extracted pair in the map.
