摘要： Disclosed are chromene derivatives represented by the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 s represent alkyl, alkoxy or like groups, R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R.sup.3 represents a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, naphthyl or heterocyclic group, and m stands for an integer of from 0 to 4, and their salts; and pharmaceuticals containing them as effective ingredients. The chromene derivatives and their salts show excellent AGE formation inhibitory action and are useful as preventives and therapeutics for diabetic complications.

摘要： Disclosed herein are substituted vinylurea derivatives represented by the following general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 are independently a phenyl group which may be substituted, R.sup.2 is a phenyl group which may be substituted, or a cycloalkyl group, and wave lines mean that the bonding state may be either E or Z, with the proviso that the cases where R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are unsubstituted phenyl groups, and where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are unsubstituted phenyl groups and R.sup.3 is a 4-ethoxyphenyl group are excluded, or salt thereof, and medicines comprising such a derivative as an active ingredient as well as a method of preventing and treating arteriosclerosis with such a medicine. The derivatives or salts thereof selectively and strongly inhibit ACAT in macrophages and are hence useful as prophylactic and therapeutic agents for arteriosclerosis.

摘要： An impeller driven by a reversible motor is set in a housing and a functional path capable of sending out liquid by pump action is formed between the inner wall of the housing and the impeller. On the both-end side of the functional path are provided two adjacent valve chambers divided by a partition, and within this partition is provided a liuqid introducing path leading to the valve chambers via inlets. On the wall of the valve chamber facing the inlet is opened an outlet, and a valve body which opens and closes the inlets and outlets is set. The liquid introducing path, one valve chamber, the functional path, and the other valve chamber are arranged in series, so that, while one valve chamber is positive in pressure, the other chamber does not fail to be negative in pressure. Thus, liquid is sent out exactly to the outlet on the positive pressure side, without being erroneously set to the other outlet on the negative pressure side.
