摘要： A device for detecting deterioration of a catalyst in an internal combustion engine having a heater on the upstream side of a catalytic converter provided in an exhaust gas passage, the device being capable of expanding the deterioration determination conditions of the catalyst. It is determined whether the conditions, except the temperature condition, are all obtained among the conditions for detecting deterioration of the catalytic converter. When the conditions, except the temperature condition, are all obtained, an electric power is supplied from a power source to the heater to satisfy the temperature condition. Deterioration of the catalyst can be reliably detected if the electric power is supplied to the heater only when the engine is in the idling operation condition and if deterioration of the catalyst is detected when the time for supplying electric power to the heater has become larger than a predetermined period of time. The heater may be one contained in the electrically heated catalyst.

摘要： In a fuel supply system, pressurized fuel is supplied to a delivery pipe from a fuel tank and distributed to fuel injection valves. The delivery pipe includes a main pipe in which upper and lower chambers are defined by a partition wall. One of the fuel injection valves is capable of receiving fuel from both the upper and lower chambers via a particular passage, while the other fuel injection valves are arranged to receive the fuel only from the lower chamber. Bubbles are supplied only to that one fuel injection valve and discharged therethrough. Accordingly, the other fuel injection valves can achieve the normal fuel injection even when the bubbles are present in the delivery pipe. It may be arranged that the partition wall may be omitted. It may further be arranged that the fuel supplied to the delivery pipe is prohibited from returning to the fuel tank and thus is all supplied to an engine via the fuel injection valves.

摘要： A method for assembling a motor vehicle body by fixing relative positional relationship among a plurality of motor vehicle body constituent parts by means of positioning members provided in a welding jig which is disposed on each side of an assembly station and, in this condition, welding together the plurality of motor vehicle body constituent parts at a plurality of tack-welding locations. First welding guns of indirect feeding type are mounted on the welding jig to weld a part of the tack-welding portions. A welding robot having mounted thereon a second welding gun is disposed outside the welding jig. The above-described part of the tack-welding portions are welded by supplying electric power from the second welding gun to the first welding guns by pinching, by the second welding gun, feeder terminals of the first welding guns in a condition in which the above-described part of the tack-welding portions are being pinched by the first welding guns. The remaining of the tack-welding portions are thereafter welded by the second welding gun.

摘要： A color copying machine includes scanning device for applying illumination onto a color original to effect a scanning operation. A color separator includes a plurality of optical filters of different colors, each of the filters allowing a predetermined light component of the illumination to pass therethrough during each scanning operation so as to apply it onto a photoconductive drum charged uniformly to form an electrostatic image thereon. Color toner is applied to each of the electrostatic images during the rotation of the photoconductive drum. The toner image on the photoconductive drum is transferred to a record sheet on a transfer drum. Two sensors are provided for sensing the initiation of each scanning operation and the position of the record sheet on the transfer drum. A control circuit detects, in response to the outputs of the two sensors, start and end timings of the transferring of each of the toner images onto the record sheet. The control circuit controls the transfer drum to rotate at the same speed as the photoconductive drum during the transfer of each toner image to said record sheet, and controls the transfer drum to rotate, during a time interval between the two consecutive transfer operations, at such a speed that a leading edge of the record sheet on the transfer drum is brought into agreement with a leading edge of each toner image on the photoconductive drum.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for controlling EGR in a diesel engine according to the present invention used an EGR valve having a diaphragm chamber, a pressure supplying device for supplying air pressure to the diaphragm chamber, an adjusting device for adjusting the air pressure corresponding to the rotation angle of a rotary shaft for controlling the amount of fuel injected, a rotation rate detector of the engine, and a pressure releasing device for releasing a portion of the negative pressure in said diaphragm chamber. In the method and apparatus, a portion of the negative pressure in the diaphragm chamber is released to an atmospheric pressure corresponding to the rotation rate of the engine. Thus, the rate of EGR is decreased in accordance with an increase in the rotation rate in an operating condition higher than a predetermined rotation rate.
