摘要： Disclosed is a catalytic material for purifying an exhaust gas component. The catalytic material comprises a composite oxide which contains, as essential components, zirconium (Zr) and neodymium (Nd), and further contains a rare-earth metal R other than cerium (Ce) and neodymium (Nd), wherein each of the zirconium, neodymium and rare-earth metal R constituting the composite oxide is contained, in the form of oxide, in such a manner that a ratio of Nd2O3/(ZrO2+Nd2O3+RO) is 3 mol % or more, and a ratio of (Nd2O3+RO)/(ZrO2+Nd2O3+RO) is 33 mol % or less. The catalytic material of the present invention can oxidize/burn PM in a short period of time, while suppressing CO emission during the burning of the PM, and can achieve further enhanced NOx conversion performance.

Optical retardation films of a first type that satisfy nx>ny, nz and optical retardation films of a second type that satisfy nx≅ny>nz are used, and a setting is made to satisfy Rp−t=2×(−0.08×RLC+58 nm+α) (α=±30 nm) and Rt−t=(1.05±0.05)×RLC−47 nm+β(−100 nm≦β≦47 nm) where Δnd represents a retardation RLC in the liquid crystal display; Rp−t represents the sum of retardations Rp in in-plane directions of a plurality of optical retardation films; and Rt−t represents the sum of retardations Rt in the direction of the thickness of the plurality of optical retardation films.

摘要： A vertically alignment mode liquid crystal display device having an improved viewing angle characteristic is disclosed. The disclosed liquid crystal display device uses a liquid crystal having a negative anisotropic dielectric constant, and orientations of the liquid crystal are vertical to substrates when no voltage being applied, almost horizontal when a predetermined voltage is applied, and oblique when an intermediate voltage is applied. At least one of the substrates includes a structure as domain regulating means, and inclined surfaces of the structure operate as a trigger to regulate azimuths of the oblique orientations of the liquid crystal when the intermediate voltage is applied.

On a transparent insulating substrate 10 there are formed gate bus lines 14 for commonly connecting the gates of thin film transistors, drain bus lines 16 for commonly connecting the drains of the thin film transistors, and outside terminals 20 and outside terminals 30 opposed respectively to the ends of the gate bus lines and the drain bus lines 16. Gate connection lines 24 for commonly connecting the gate bus lines 14 and drain connection lines 34 for commonly connecting the drain bus lines are formed in regions inner of the outside terminals 20, 30. The thin film transistor matrix device can be fabricated without occurrence of short circuit defects, with little characteristic change and with high yields.

摘要： The invention relates to a liquid crystal display used as a display section of an electronic apparatus and provides a liquid crystal display having high chromaticity characteristics and viewing angle characteristics. A configuration is employed which includes substrates having electrodes on respective surfaces thereof opposite to each other, a liquid crystal sealed between the substrates, and a pixel region including a low effective voltage area in which an effective voltage applied to the liquid crystal is lower than a voltage applied between the electrodes, the low effective voltage area occupying part of the region in a predetermined area ratio, the pixel region having a threshold voltage that varies between the low effective voltage area and another area.
