    • A multi-plate clutch system includes: a pressure plate which is biased by a clutch spring in a direction in which driving friction plates and driven friction plates are brought into pressure contact with each other; and at least one of assist device configured to increase a pressure contact force when torque is changed for acceleration and the slipper device configured to decrease the pressure contact force when the torque is changed for deceleration. A ring member whose inner peripheral surface is put in sliding contact with an outer peripheral surface of one cam plate out of paired cam plates, which are included in at least one of the assist device and the slipper device, is fixed to a clutch inner, and oil discharging passages for guiding oil to a sliding contact portion between the one cam plate and the ring member are provided in outer peripheral edge portions of concave cams formed in the one cam plate. Accordingly, it is possible to supply a sufficient amount of oil to a sliding contact portion between the clutch inner and the outer periphery of the cam plate in a state where the clutch inner is centered together with the cam plate by being supported in sliding contact with the outer periphery of the cam plate.

    • A lubrication structure for a multi-speed transmission has a lubrication structure in which a gear shaft is provided with cam guide grooves in an inner cavity thereof. A lubricating oil is introduced into the inner cavity by way of oil feed introducing holes which are bored in one end portion of the gear shaft so as to provide communication between the inside and the outside of the gear shaft. The lubricating oil is led in the axial direction along the inner peripheral surface of the inner cavity by axial oil feed grooves formed by cutting along the inner peripheral surface of the inner cavity in parallel to the cam guide grooves. The lubricating oil is led out to the engagement switch-over mechanism by radial oil feed holes bored in radial directions so as to communicate with the axial oil feed grooves at axial-direction positions where pin members are located.

    • A gear with an annular member disposed alongside a side wall of an inward protrusion in a manner turnable relative to the side wall. The annular member is formed with abutment projections with inclined surfaces extending in circumferential directions and engaged by engaging pawls. The annular member is urged by return springs in such a manner that the portion of each abutment projection, at least other than the inclined surfaces, overlaps each engaging projection as viewed in axial direction. Each inclined surface of the abutment projection is made up of a bottom-side inclined surface having an inclination angle allowing abutment by the engaging pawls, and a top-side inclined surface having an inclination angle not allowing abutment by the engaging pawls but causing sliding movement of the engaging pawls. The engaging pawls are prevented be imposed with excessive local load when the engaging pawls engage the engaging projections of the gear.

    • A pressure plate is movable in an axial direction to cause multiple driving friction plates and driven friction plates to come in pressure contact with each other. The pressure plate is biased by a clutch spring in a direction to bring the driving friction plates and the driven friction plates in pressure contact with each other. When acceleration torque is changed, an assist mechanism increases the pressure-contact force of the pressure plate. A pressure plate and a clutch inner are connected together and are capable of being separated from each other in an axial direction. When an assist mechanism increases a pressure-contact force of the pressure plate, the pressure plate is moved in a direction to bring driving and driven friction plates into pressure contact with each other, while the clutch inner is moved relative to the pressure plate in the same direction so as to be detached from the pressure plate.
