摘要： A data rate determining method and apparatus in a smart-antenna mobile communication system are provided. A ratio of other-cell interference to AWGN in total noise received at an MS is estimated and a power margin is applied in proportion to highly time-variant other-cell interference. Therefore, despite a change in the other cell interference between a rate decision time and an actual data transmission time, a successful data transmission rate is increased.

摘要： A method for controlling transmit power of a preamble sequence by a Subscriber Station in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access communication system, the system dividing an entire frequency band into a plurality of sub-carrier bands, transmitting an preamble sequence for an Adaptive Antenna System through a predetermined number of sub-carrier bands from among the sub-carrier bands, transmitting a data symbol through remaining sub-carrier bands excluding the sub-carrier bands used for transmitting the preamble sequence. The method includes determining the transmit power used for transmitting the data symbol; and determining the transmit power used for transmitting the preamble sequence to be identical to a preset threshold transmit power when the transmit power of the data symbol is smaller than the threshold transmit power, and determining the transmit power used for transmitting the preamble sequence to be identical to the transmit power of the data symbol when the transmit power of the data symbol exceeds the threshold transmit power.

摘要： An apparatus and method for Forward link Outer Loop Rate Control (FOLRC) using Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) in a mobile communication system are provided. The method includes receiving information, which indicates success or failure in receiving a packet transmitted in a previous frame, from Mobile Stations (MSs); and decreasing an offset value for changing a CINR value in a link table of each MS when Acknowledgement (Ack) is received as the information indicating success or failure in receiving the packet, and increasing the offset value when a signal received as the information indicating success or failure in receiving the packet is other than the Ack. Accordingly, there is an advantage in that a link table adaptive to a channel condition can be obtained.
