摘要： In a starter includes a motor provided with a motor contact for controlling electric power supply to an armature arranged inside a motor housing; a gear cover section, which is mounted on the motor, having a flange section formed on the outer circumference thereof; a switch terminal located on the outside of the gear cover section; and a magnet switch connected to the switch terminal. The switch terminal is installed in the vicinity of the flange section and in a region within the range of projection of the flange section . In the flange section, there are provided a rib and a motor terminal mounting section, and the switch terminal is arranged in a switch terminal containing section formed between the rib, the sidewall of the motor terminal mounting section and the flange section.

An event group is then produced by grouping the collected event records. The event group is compared with a plurality of pattern definition groups in terms of occurrence patterns of event records, where each pattern definition group defines a pattern of event records that would be produced upon occurrence of a particular problem. Subsequently a troubleshooting record is extracted. This troubleshooting record has previously been associated with a pattern definition group resembling the event group in terms of occurrence patterns of event records.

摘要： In a starter system for an internal combustion engine, an input member of an overrunning clutch is provided with an annular shoulder surface abutting an annular end surface of a cylindrical boss portion of a reduction gear unit casing when the overrunning clutch is at a rest position, and a cylindrical sleeve portion extends from the annular shoulder surface towards the reduction gear unit so as to be closely fitted on the cylindrical boss portion of the reduction gear unit casing. Thus, water and other foreign matters are not only shut off by these mutually abutting annular surfaces, but also prevented from reaching this region by the cylindrical sleeve portion closely fitted on the cylindrical boss portion of the reduction gear unit. Also, the centrifugal force prevents water and other foreign matters from reaching this area when the starter is actuated and the two annular surfaces are not in contact.
