    • A linear motion rolling guide unit, which has underside seals prevented from falling off a slider, comprises a slider S having a pair of end caps 2 secured at ends of a casing 1, and underside seals 6 provided between the pair of end caps 2 having engaging projections 12. Insertion holes 10 are formed in the underside seals 6 and engaged with the engaging projections 12 to secure the underside seals 6 to the slider S. Fallout-inhibiting protrusions 9 are provided at ends of each underside seal 6 in the longitudinal direction. The slider S has holding portions 14 each having a hole or a recess into which each of the fallout-inhibiting protrusions 9 is inserted when the underside seal is secured to the slider S. A gap is maintained between the holding portion 14 having the hole or the recess and the outer periphery of the fallout-inhibiting protrusion 9.

    • A retainer to be installed in a linear motion guide unit is disclosed which composed of embracing parts to hold a roller on diametrically opposite sides thereof, and connecting flanges joining the embracing parts together with one another. The embracing parts to hold the roller between them are each made with a first lip raised above any one side thereof, and a second lip raised above another side thereof. The first and second lips raised in opposite direction are placed in an offset or staggered relation with one another in lengthwise direction of the embracing part or in axial direction of the roller so as to be tough to suffer any distortion and/or damage on molding operation. The retainer can sustain ample lubricant near the lips. The embracing parts come into rolling-contact with the rolling surface of the roller while the connecting flanges come into sliding contact with axially opposite ends of the roller.

    • A linear motion guide unit is disclosed, in which a slider fitting over a guide rail for movement is comprised of three components save rolling elements. The three components are joined together in the slider with using no fastener such as threaded fasteners, but just with fit-engagement that makes it possible to shrink the slider down in size. The three components are made up of a carriage made therein with raceway grooves and return passages, an upper component applied to the carriage to fit into recesses on the top surface of the carriage, and a lower component applied to the carriage to fit into recesses on the bottom surface of the carriage. The upper and lower components are joined together with the help of fit-engagement of hooks and hook holes, with holding firmly the carriage between them.

    • An expansion-molded article of a polypropylene resin is produced by filling pre-foamed particles of the polypropylene resin, which have a crystalline structure featuring an inherent peak inherent to the polypropylene resin and a high-temperature peak on the temperature side higher than the temperature corresponding to the inherent peak on a DSC curve obtained by differential scanning calorimetry of the pre-foamed particles and a bulk density of 0.04 g/cm.sup.3 or higher and require melting energy of 8-12 J/g at the high-temperature peak, in a mold without applying any pretreatment to the pre-foamed particles to build up an internal pressure therein, and then heating the pre-foamed particles, whereby the pre-foamed particles are caused to expand into the expansion-molded article conforming with the mold. The pre-foamed particles may alternatively have a bulk density lower than 0.04 g/cm.sup.3 and require melting energy of at least 8 J/g.

The flexible spine deflects as the rollers roll through the return passage, permitting the rollers coming into touch with the porous compact to lubricate the rollers.

The porous compact is composed a thick block to fit into a deep cavity in the recess, a nose leading lubricant in the turnaround passage, and a conjunctive part between the thick block and the nose. The porous compact fits snugly into the recess in a fashion that the nose comes into rolling-touch at its tip with the rollers as they roll through the turnaround passage, applying the rollers with lubricant delivered from the noses.
