    • A radiation conversion device is driven by an on-board battery, detects radiation that has passed through a subject, and converts the radiation into image information. A charging cradle to which the radiation conversion device is connected carries out a charging process on the battery. The radiation conversion device includes a signal transmitting unit for transmitting image information by wireless communications to an external apparatus, a transmission suspension unit for monitoring a transmission state of the image information by the signal transmitting unit and suspending transmission of the image information when a transmission error is generated, and a suspension release unit for releasing suspension of transmission of the image information when the radiation conversion device is connected to the charging cradle. The signal transmitting unit transmits the image information to the external apparatus when suspension of transmission of the image information has been released.

    • A system including a device equipped with a reception section, a reception condition detection section and a control section. A partner device emits laser light and modulates the laser light in accordance with transfer subject information. Relative positions of the partner device and the device are adjusted to a communication-possible position, at which the laser light from the partner device is incident in a light reception region of the device. In this state, the reception section receives the transmission subject information from the partner device by detecting the incident laser light and demodulating the transmission subject information therefrom. The reception condition detection section detects a deterioration in a reception condition. If a deterioration in the reception condition is detected, the control section produces a warning or stops emissions of laser light from the partner device.

    • A radiation imaging cassette is provided with two types of communicating means within a housing. One is a wireless communicating means for communicating wirelessly with an imaging control means, and the other is a wired communicating means for communicating with the imaging control means. A metal detecting sensor for detecting metal in the periphery of the housing is also provided. A control section ceases the operation of the wireless communicating means and causes the radiation imaging cassette to communicate with imaging control means using the wired communication means, in response to detection of metal by the metal detecting sensor. Thereby, imaging operations are enabled to be performed safely even in cases that patients with pacemakers are in the vicinity of the radiation imaging cassette.

    • A printer includes an image area sensor for picking up a picture frame in photo film to output image data. A printing projecting lens focuses and records a print frame to color photographic paper. Three LED light sources generate light. A digital micromirror device (DMD) is disposed in a traveling path of the light, includes plural micromirrors arranged in at least one array. The plural micromirrors are individually shiftable between first and second positions different in a direction, and when in the first position, direct the light to the photo film by reflection, and when in the second position, direct the light to the printing projecting lens by reflection. A controller initially sets the plural micromirrors in the first position, to illuminate the picture frame in the photo film while the image area sensor is operated. According to the image data, the controller sets micromirrors in one first group in the DMD to the first position, and sets micromirrors in a second group in the DMD to the second position except for the first group, to modulate the light by reflection on the second group. Thus, the print frame is printed with the printing projecting lens.
