摘要： An apparatus on a spinning preparation machine, especially a flat card, roller card, cleaner or the like, with a cooling system, a roller has a cylindrical peripheral surface and a casing opposite to and spaced from this peripheral surface, a carding region where carding work is carried out and heat is generated being present between the peripheral surface of the roller and a part of the casing. A cooling medium enters the interior void space of the roller, passes through and exits again. In order to reduce or avoid thermal expansion of the roller in a structurally simple manner, the cooling medium is a cooling gas, especially air, which is capable of absorbing heat in the interior void space of the roller and dissipating it from the interior void space of the roller.

摘要： A fiber sliver producing apparatus includes an arrangement for making a running fiber web and a web gathering device which has a plurality of walls defining an inner space through which the fiber web runs in an advancing direction. The walls are stationary during operation of the apparatus. The web gathering device has a web gathering portion causing the running fiber web to converge and a web densifying portion, situated downstream of the web gathering portion as viewed in the advancing direction, for forming a running sliver from the web. The web densifying portion has an outlet opening of cross-sectionally rectangular outline and an opening width which is at least five times greater than the opening height. Upon discharge through the outlet opening, the sliver passes through cooperating rolls of a calender roll pair defining a bight in which the outlet opening of the web gathering device is disposed.

摘要： A carding machine includes flat bars traveling in an endless path. First and second end rolls periodically reverse the travel direction of each flat bar. First and second drive shafts carry and rotate the respective first and second end rolls. An apparatus for cleaning the flat bars includes a throughgoing, eccentric aperture provided in a radial wall of the first end roll. At any time at least two mutually adjoining flat bars, situated on the first end roll, are aligned at least partially with the aperture. A suction inlet adjoins the radial wall of the first end roll for being periodically brought into alignment with the aperture as the first end roll rotates. A suction chamber is formed by a space bounded by the adjoining flat bars and a surface of the first drive shaft.
