    • An arrangement for feeding transport containers of a sorting conveyor with flat mailed items includes a linear conveyor, having a direction of conveyance and a rearward end, for engaging one surface of the respective mailed items in a planar frictional lock and transferring the mailed items in the direction of conveyance to the transport containers at the rearward end of the linear conveyor. A rotary body having a cylindrical surface including a contact region and being rotatable around an axis extending perpendicularly to the direction of conveyance of the linear conveyor is arranged at the rearward end of the linear conveyor for contacting an opposite surface of the respective mailed item in a frictionally locked manner with the contact region of its cylindrical surface during transfer of the mailed items to the transport vehicles.

    • A device for counting coins of different diameters and similar disk-shaped objects which are conveyed in irregular sequence. The edges of the coins contact a guide edge on a guide track which has a scanning head located therein for identifying the coins. An electronic evaluation and display unit receives the identification signals delivered by the scanning head. The scanning head has several electronic proximity sensors located at different distances from the guide edge. The paths of motion of the edges of coins away from the guide edge, run in the active areas of the proximity sensors which provide substantially clear identification signals distinguishing the coins to be identified. The diameter of the proximity sensors is approximately half the diameter of the smallest coin to be identified, and the several proximity sensors are located at different distances from the guide edge. These distances are determined by the paths of motion of different coins. The sensors, furthermore, may be staggered along a line perpendicular to the guide edge. The electronic proximity sensors, moreover, may be located one behind another in the direction of motion of the coins.

    • Software development items can be represented in a graph data structure. Relationships between the represented items can be detected and reflected in the graph data structure. Queries can be run against the data structure to determine which software development items are related to each other. Implicit query can be implemented in a software development context. A graph browser can present panes showing related items.In some embodiments, a set of regular expressions can be used to identify paths in a graph. Probability scores for the identified paths can be computed. Path data for the identified paths, including the probability scores, can be stored in a searchable location accessible by one or more applications. A query of the path data can be processed to return query results associated with at least one of the identified paths.
