摘要： A donor element for use in laser thermal imaging has a layer which comprises an infrared-absorbing material, an image dye and a polymer matrix comprising a thermally degradable polymer and a non thermally degradable polymer there being an interaction between the infrared-absorbing material and the non degradable polymer to facilitate retention of the infrared-absorbing material in the donor element. The degradable and non degradable polymers are preferably copolymers both of which contain methacrylic acid as a monomer. The degradable polymer is preferably a copolymer of methoxyethyl cyanoacrylate and methacrylic acid preferably in molar proportions of from 1:1 to 12:1. The non degradable polymer is preferably a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and methacrylic acid, preferably in molar proportions of from 1:1 to 15:1. The element may be prepared from an aqueous solid particle dispersion which has been prepared by milling the components together in a ball mill.

摘要： The invention provides a photographic element comprising at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith at least one cyan dye-forming coupler, UV absorber and (A) a stabilizer of formula (I) wherein R1 is an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or aryl group or a 5- to 10- membered heterocyclic ring which contains one or more heteroatoms selected from nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur, which ring is unsubstituted or substituted; Z is a hydrogen atom or a substituent group; X is a group selected from —SO2—, —SO—, —COO—,—CO— and —CS—, W is one or more unsubstituted or independently substituted alkylene groups connecting the nitrogen atom to X, and p is 0 or 1; R2 is a substituent group; or the groups represented by Z and R2 can be joined to form a ring which may be substituted; and (B) a high-boiling solvent of formula (II) wherein R3 is an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or aryl group; and G is an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group. The invention provides improved light and dark stability in a photographic element without degradation in hue or reactivity of the dyes therein.

摘要： In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a photographic element is disclosed comprising a silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith an acetanilide-based yellow dye forming coupler and a stabilizer compound of the formula S-I: wherein R0 represents an aryl or heterocyclic group; Ra is H or a substituent group; L represents an alkylene linking group and p represents 0 or 1; and Rb is a substituent group, provided that substituent groups represented by Ra and Rb may be joined to form a ring. The presence of substituted amine compounds of formula S-I improves the efficiency of dye formation reaction for acetanilide-based couplers. When used in combination with known bis-phenolic stabilizers, substantial improvements in the light stability of the image dyes can be also be obtained. Accordingly, photographic elements of the present invention upon exposure and photographic processing exhibit good activity and yield yellow dye images that have low fading when exposed to light.

摘要： This invention provides composition and method to overcome the very high viscosity of prior small-particle dispersions when admixed with gelatin in aqueous solution for coating a photographic film element.The invention is generally accomplished by the utilization of a second surfactant in the melt formulated by the admixture of the small-particle dispersion and the gelatin solution. The surfactants of this invention, that is, utilized to control the rheology of such said melts, have the following general structure: ##STR1## wherein n=5 to 20 andx=1 to 4.
