    • Disclosed is a system and method that allows a computer system the ability to predict what query terms in a search will be popular. The system creates a unified model that determines the future popularity of a query term over a period of time in the future. The unified model averages the results of three different prediction models to obtain a prediction of the future popularity of a query term. The prediction from the unified model is compared against a threshold value of popularity over a time period. When the predicted popularity of the query exceeds the threshold the term is stored. In some embodiments the period that the term exceeds the threshold may also be stored.

    • A method of forming a semiconductor device includes providing a substrate for the semiconductor device. A base oxide layer is formed overlying the substrate by applying a rapid thermal oxidation (RTO) of the substrate in the presence of oxygen. A nitrogen-rich region is formed within and at a surface of the base oxide layer. The nitrogen-rich region overlies an oxide region in the base oxide layer. Afterwards, the semiconductor device is annealed in a dilute oxygen and hydrogen-free ambient of below 1 Torr partial pressure of the oxygen. The annealing heals bond damage in both the oxide region and the nitrogen-rich region in the base oxide layer. After annealing the semiconductor device in the dilute oxygen ambient, in-situ steam generation (ISSG) is used to grow and density the oxide region in the base oxide layer at an interface between the substrate and base oxide layer.

    • A method for establishing a network platform for renting the electronic publications adopts a grid algorithm, links to the Internet via various networks, and establishes the network platform having an information service grid character for renting the electronic publication. And the service consumer grid nodes can obtain the service provided by the service provider nodes through the variant service paths, which are provided by the service domain owner and the administrator grid nodes, and pay the service fee.

The apparatus includes a polarization beam splitter and a chromatic dispersion compensation module. An optical splitter is disposed in front of the polarization beam splitter, and a chromatic dispersion monitoring module is connected between the optical splitter and the chromatic dispersion compensation module. The optical splitter is configured to split a modulated optical signal received by the coherent receiver apparatus and then transmit the split modulated optical signal to the chromatic dispersion monitoring module and the polarization beam splitter. The chromatic dispersion monitoring module is configured to perform chromatic dispersion monitoring on the modulated optical signal to determine a chromatic dispersion range of the modulated optical signal, and enable the chromatic dispersion compensation module to perform chromatic dispersion compensation in the chromatic dispersion range.
