    • A core that is adapted to receive web material such as a wound film roll includes inner and outer coaxial cylinders joined together by a ring plate that extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the inner and outer cylinders. A plurality of radially disposed ribs are positioned between and connected to the inner and outer cylinders. At least one projection is provided on the core at one of various places such as the inner surface of the outer cylinder or the outer surface of the inner cylinder. The projection increases frictional resistance between the mold core and the molded core, thereby ensuring the mold core will be ejected with the core from the mold cavity. The core is manufactured from a resin composition comprising 70 to 30 wt. % of polypropylene resin having a melt index of 10 to 60 g/10 minutes, a bending elastic modulus of more than 8,000 kg/cm.sup.2, an Izod impact strength of more than 2 kg.cm/cm and a Rockwell hardness of more than 70 R, 30 to 70 wt. % of linear low density polyethylene resin having a melt index of 3 to 50 g/10 minutes, a density of 0.910 to 0.935 g/cm.sup.3, an Olsen rigidity of more than 1,500 kg/cm.sup.2 and a Shore hardness of more than 40 D, more than 0.01 wt. % of a lubricant and more than 0.01 wt. % of an antioxidant.

    • In an ink jet printing apparatus for scanning a print medium with a printing head and printing an image thereon, the printing head includes a plurality of ink ejection port arrays. The ink ejection ports in each of the arrays are arranged in a direction crossing a scanning direction of the printing head relative to the print medium. An allowable recording rate given to at least one of the ejection port arrays behind an ejection port array located at the front in the scanning direction is set lower than that given to the one located at the front. As a result, a printing apparatus capable of suppressing a throughput speed thereof and adhesion of ink mists to a formation face of the ejection ports can be provided.

    • A steering device is provided that is capable of facilitating an assembly operation, decreasing the number of parts, and decreasing manufacturing costs. A bottom plate of a stopper is tightened to an outer curved surface of an inner column between a head section and a bulged section of a rivet body. An outside diameter of the rivet body increases to eliminate a gap between a first through-hole and a second through-hole. The stopper remains stationary even when it touches a long hole at a telescopic stroke end and repeatedly receives an impact force. The durability of the stopper improves. There is no need for a nut for fixing the stopper to the inner column. The number of parts decreases to reduce manufacturing costs.

    • In a frequency converter, a phase-locked loop generates a local-oscillation signal having a low frequency, of a plurality of local-oscillation signals having different frequencies, based on an intermediate frequency beacon signal that results from mixing a predetermined beacon signal with the local-oscillation frequency signal. Even if the phase-locked loop is used to generate the low frequency local-oscillation signal only, a frequency offset and a phase noise taking place in remaining high frequency local-oscillation signals are compensated for or canceled out. The frequency converter thus results in a high frequency accuracy. This arrangement reduces the number of bulky, costly and power-consuming phase-locked oscillators, typically used in the quasi millimeter band or the millimeter band. A simplified, compact frequency converter is thus provided, reducing both installation and operating costs.
