    • A motor wind up device which is automatically stopped after completion of photography of a roll of film in a camera. A control circuit of the motor controlling the wind up operation is changed over from a stop state to a wind up state by means of a signal produced when the shutter has run. When the motor is once stopped when over-torque is detected at the termination of the film to carry out the release operation, no shutter operation signal is produced because the shutter has not yet been completely wound up so that the motor will not run. When the film is terminated at the beginning of wind up operation, the device prevents the production of a false shutter operation completion signal even if the shutter does not run.

    • An apparatus is disclosed which is arranged to record a video signal in first areas respectively provided in a multiplicity of tracks on a recording medium and also a digital still-image signal in second areas which are respectively separated from the first areas. In the apparatus, while the digital still-image signal is being recorded in the second areas, the video signal is always recorded in the first areas, whereby it is possible to prevent occurrence of an uncomfortable phenomenon, such as formation of a scene devoid of a substantial image, during reproduction from the first areas. In addition, an analog still-image signal, representative of an image identical to an image represented by the digital still-image signal recorded in the second areas, is repeatedly recorded in the first areas during a predetermined time duration, whereby it is possible to facilitate search of a still-image signal recorded in the second areas. In addition, the digital still-image signal is recorded in the second areas at intervals of a predetermined period during recording of an analog moving-image signal in the first areas, whereby it is possible to record as many still images as possible.

    • A recording system comprises an image pick-up recording device to record the picture information obtained through the image pick-up on a recording medium by a recording head; and a control device to change the relative location of the head and the medium after the information of one picture has been recorded in a predetermined location on the medium and to prevent the next picture information from being read out during the period of time until the completion of that displacement. The recording system may be provided with a memory for the picture information and a control device for allowing part of the picture information to be recorded in the selected portion on the medium. The control device also permits the other portion of the picture information stored in the memory to be recorded in the other portion on the medium after changing the relative location of the head and the medium.

    • An image information signal transmitting system of this invention is a system which divides an image information signal for one picture constituted by a set of picture element data into blocks each constituted by a predetermined quantity of picture element data, transmits the picture element data on each of the blocks on the basis of a mode selected from among a plurality of transmission modes each of which allows a different quantity of picture element data to be transmitted and a mode information signal indicative of the transmission mode of each of the blocks, and restores the picture element data on each of the blocks to the original image information signal. The system is arranged to store the transmitted picture element data, read out the stored picture element data at a data readout rate of one kind which is selected from among a plurality of different data readout rates and which corresponds to the kind of transmission mode indicated by the transmitted mode information signal, and implement a data restoring processing on the picture element data thus read on the basis of a data restoring processing of one kind which is selected from among a plurality of different data restoring processings and which corresponds to the kind of transmission mode indicated by the transmitted mode information signal. With this arrangement, it is possible to realize reductions in the size, weight and cost of the apparatus without deteriorating an image information signal to be transmitted.
