    • A plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate with discharge cells partitioned therebetween. First electrodes and second electrodes surround the discharge cells and are respectively disposed proximate to opposite ones of the first and second substrates. The first electrodes are connected to each other and the second electrodes are connected to each other in a first direction. Address electrodes are between and spaced apart from the first and second electrodes along the direction perpendicular to the planes of the first substrate and the second substrate, and are connected in a second direction crossing the first direction. The address electrodes also surround the discharge cells.

    • A plasma display panel is provided. The plasma display panel includes a front substrate; a rear substrate arranged to face the front substrate, a dielectric layer arranged between the front and the rear substrates and at least a portion of the dielectric layer having a first color, plurality of barrier ribs arranged between the front and the rear substrates and at least a portion of the plurality of barrier ribs having a second color, plurality of light absorbing layers arranged between the front substrate and the plurality of barrier ribs, wherein the first and the second colors are subtractive-mixed with each other. The dielectric layer and the plurality of barrier ribs are colored with two complementary colors that essentially filter out nearly all light. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce outdoor daylight reflection and improve image contrast.

An electrode-burying depth corresponding to discharge cells differs according to a magnitude of a dielectric constant of phosphor layers corresponding to the discharge cells.

    • Provided are a plasma display panel and a method of manufacturing the same. The plasma display panel includes a plurality of substrates; a plurality of discharge electrode pairs formed on an inner surface of one of the substrates; a dielectric layer burying the discharge electrode pairs; barrier ribs disposed between the substrates to define a plurality of discharge cells; red, green, and blue phosphor layer coated on inner walls of the discharge cells, wherein one of the substrate s comprises a display area where an image is displayed and a non-display area corresponding to an edge of the display area and to a region where the discharge electrode pairs are connected to external terminals, and the thickness of the dielectric layer coated in the non-display area gradually increases to a boundary region between the display area and the non-display area, after which the dielectric layer is maintained at a uniform thickness in the display area. Thus, an edge hill, which is a height difference between different areas in a dielectric layer, is removed. Accordingly, a gap between a front panel and a rear panel can be removed when the front panel and the rear panel are assembled, thereby preventing driving noise.

    • Provided is a plasma display panel (PDP), which minimizes an elevation in reflection brightness caused by reflection of external light and improves in contrast and discharge efficiency. The PDP includes a front substrate transmitting visible rays; a rear substrate disposed substantially parallel to the front substrate; barrier ribs interposed between the front and rear substrates and defining a plurality of discharge cells along with the front and rear substrates, the barrier ribs formed of a dielectric material; two or more kinds of discharge electrodes disposed on at least one of the front substrate, the rear substrate, and the barrier ribs; a dielectric layer disposed on a rear surface of the front substrate; phosphor layers disposed in the discharge cells; and a discharge gas filled in the discharge cells. Herein, any two members of the front substrate, the dielectric layer, and the barrier ribs are colored, and when colors that are put in to the two members are mixed using subtractive mixture of colors, the mixed color lowers in both brightness and chroma.
