    • A camera accessory is equipped with an accessory mount assuming a bayonet structure with first through third tabs set over intervals along a circumference and projecting from inside of the accessory toward the outside. The mount is structured so that insertion of the mount is allowed when the mount is inserted at a correct interlock phase without any of the first through third tabs contacting any of three camera body-side tabs, and that insertion of the mount is disallowed if the accessory mount is positioned at an incorrect interlock phase with at least two tabs contacting at least two of the camera body-side tabs. The first through the third tabs extend along varying lengths along the circumference. When the first tab and either other tab contacts two of the camera body-side tabs at a total of two contact locations, the first tab contacts near the second side end.

    • A blade type focal plane shutter is designed to decrease the shutter charge energy and to improve the durability of the shutter without decreasing the impact resistance of the main arms of the shutter. The shutter may comprise a shutter base plate having an aperture; shutter blades each composed of a plural number of blade segments and a driving mechanism having main arms and follower arms rotatably connected to the shutter base plate and blade segments as to form a parallel link mechanism, the main arms having pin-receiving holes in which driving pins are engaged respectively. Through the driving pins, the driving mechanism is able to move the blade segments between the aperture opening position in which the blade segments are folded up outside the aperture and the aperture closing position in which the blade segments are expanded to cover the aperture. The follower arms are decreased in rigidity and/or impact resistance or in thickness relative to the main arms.

    • In the focal plane shutter having front and rear curtains disposed between lens and film on the camera, each of the front and rear curtains has a plurality of divided blades, and the shutter performs exposure to the film by forming a slit of a predetermined width between edge surfaces opposed to each other of the front and rear curtains, each of the divided blades comprises a light-reflective lens-side surface and a light-reflective slit-side edge surface having respective predetermined rates of diffused reflection. The lens-side surface is formed to have a rate of diffused reflection in a range of 7 to 30% within the region of visible light, as the predetermined rate of diffused reflection. The slit-side edge surface is formed to have a low rate of diffused reflection of not greater than 15% within the region of visible light, as the predetermined rate of diffused reflection. With this divided blades, the rate of reflection of the surface of the shutter curtain is applicable to a rate of reflection that enables TTL multi-pattern light adjustment and also unevenness of exposure is prevented from occurring.

    • An accessory mount can be inserted through the camera body mount without any of the first through third tabs being hindered by any of three camera body-side tabs at the camera body mount, as long as the accessory mount is inserted into the camera body mount at a correct interlock phase. The first tab, the second tab and the third tab extend over varying lengths along the circumferential direction. The first tab extends over a greatest length along the circumferential direction among the first through third tabs. The third tab extends over a smallest length along the circumferential direction among the first through third tabs. The accessory mount includes a restricting member disposed near the third tab, a fitting portion used to align an optical axis of the accessory mount with an optical axis of the camera body, and a lock pin hole through which a lock pin, retractably disposed at the camera body, is inserted so as to lock the camera accessory in a fully mounted state. The restricting member is disposed at a position assumed on a side substantially opposite from the lock pin hole across the fitting portion.
