A retroreflective article includes a body portion having a base surface and a structured surface opposite the base surface. Each cube corner element has three tetragonal optically reflective faces that intersect to define a cube corner apex and two tetragonal non-optical faces that intersect along an edge. The symmetry axes of the cube corner elements are substantially parallel.

摘要： A method for manufacturing flexible cube corner retroreflective sheeting comprising the steps of: a) providing a tool having a molding surface; b) applying to the molding surface a volume of a flowable resin composition; c) contacting the resin composition with a first major surface of an overlay film; d) minimizing excess resin composition; e) curing the resin composition to form a sheeting comprising an array of cube corner elements bonded to the overlay film; f) removing the sheeting from the tool; and g) applying mechanical stress to the sheeting so as to cause a fractured separation of substantially each individual cube corner element from surrounding cube corner elements. Also, flexible retroreflective sheetings comprising: a) a two dimensional array of substantially independent cube corner elements, the array comprising a first polymeric material, and b) an overlay film having two major surfaces and comprising of a second polymeric material, the array being bonded to the first major surface of the overlay film. Also safety devices incorporating such sheetings.

摘要： A subassembly for microwave structure such as a connector is described. An insulator for spacing of at least one center conductor is formed of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and effectively bonded to at least one center conductor to be used in the connector. The PTFE may be bonded to the conductor by employing an intermediate layer of FEP (fluorinated ethylene-propylene) that can be bonded to the center conductor. Bonding of the components into an integral subassembly is done in a single step involving heating and pressurizing a pre-assembly in a mold to a sufficient amount and for a sufficient time to provide an acceptably strong bond. Superior electrical characteristics such as a low SWR and insertion loss are achieved in captivated and/or sealed connectors. A good seal is achieved between the insulator and the outer conductor by forming an undercut in the latter, filling it with silicone grease and enabling a temporarily mechanically-collapsed bead on the insulator to expand into the undercut.

An endless conveyor belt extends around spaced guides on the carriage. Feed discharge is made from either end of the belt, independent of the carriage drive. The latter drive includes mechanism for selectively determining the zone or zones into which feed is delivered.
