    • A vehicle equipped with four-wheel drive has a transfer case including a center-differential which delivers driving power to both front and rear axle assemblies when needed and is shiftable between a two-wheel and a four-wheel drive mode of operation and between a differential-locked and a differential-unlocked drive mode of operation. A free wheeling drive mechanism with a clutch member is incorporated in an output shaft of an axle differential in association with wheels non-driven in the two-wheel drive mode of operation and is adapted to disconnect when the vehicle is in the two-wheel drive mode of operation. A controller causes a forced drive mode shift of the center-differential from the four-wheel differential-underlined drive mode of operation either to the four-wheel differential-locked or to the two-wheel drive mode of operation when the disconnection of the free-wheeling drive mechanism is detected while the vehicle is in the four-wheel differential-unlocked drive mode of operation.

    • A knuckle bracket (1) for a cylinder (20) comprises outer and inner brackets (2, 10). The outer bracket (2) comprises a pair of outer plates (4, 5) projecting in a lateral direction with respect to a cylinder axis. A guide (17) of having outwardly curved shape is formed on a leading edge (X, Y) of each of the inner plates (12, 13) so as to facilitate introduction of a connecting part (90) of a knuckle bracket (N) into the inner bracket (10). By forming a notch (7) on a leading edge of each of the outer plates (4, 5) to accommodate the guide (17), the size of the knuckle bracket (1) can be suppressed.

    • Problems: To provide a polyvinylidene fluoride microporous membrane which has high water permeability and separation performance and is excellent in mechanical and chemical strength; and a process for producing the film.Means for Solving Problems: An anisotropic polyvinylidene fluoride hollow fiber microporous membrane characterized in that the porosity of the cross-sectional bulk layer is higher than the membrane surface porosity of the outer layer and that in the cross section of the membrane, the dense microstructure of the outer surface changes substantially discontinuously into the coarse structure of the bulk layer. The microporous membrane can be produced by introducing by a dry-wet method a dope prepared by dissolving a polyvinylidene fluoride resin together with a water-soluble latent solvent at high temperature into a cooling bath consisting of water or a mixture thereof with a water-soluble latent solvent and subjecting the dope to membrane formation wherein the cross-sectional bulk layer is formed mainly by thermally-induced phase separation and the outer layer is formed mainly by nonsolvent-induced phase separation.
