摘要： An edge rail for a pane or panel of glass or like material to be used as a door or partition is made of mating male and female rail sections defining a channel for reception of and secure attachment to an edge portion of a pane or panel. The two rail sections have portions thereof cut away and defining a recess or chamber for reception of a door or partition supporting structure directly within the rail and not as an appendage thereto. The edge rail has substantially universal application as either a top rail or a bottom rail and for either a right hand mount or a left hand mount. The rail is relatively small, slim and compact and imparts an esthetically pleasing appearance to the panel assembly.

The trim assembly includes a jamb extension assembly for covering the interior surface of the wall opening and one or more casing assemblies for covering the wall at one or both sides of the wall opening. Both the jamb extension assembly and casing assembly are made of solid cellular foam polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polystyrene members having miter cut and welded corners. The specific material allows for the construction of a strong, yet lightweight pre-finished one-piece assembly for easy and efficient installation in a window or door opening independent of any window or door structure. A method for manufacturing the trim assembly and curved portions thereof is also disclosed.

摘要： A window frame includes tubular sill, head and jamb members of extruded plastics material, and each member has laterally spaced inner and outer walls integrally connected by laterally extending transverse walls. A nailing flange projects laterally outwardly from each outer wall for securing the frame within a wall opening, and each frame member has an integral exterior portion projecting outwardly from the corresponding nailing flanges. The exterior portion of each frame member cooperates with an exterior transverse wall to define a groove or channel extending laterally inwardly from the outer wall for receiving the edge portion of exterior siding. Narrower frame members also have cavities within the interior transverse walls for receiving the edge portions of interior wood sill, head and jamb extenders.

The window includes two spaced window panes, one of which is glass and the other plastic. An exterior trim ring is provided to circumscribe the window to give a finished appearance to the exterior of the window. An octagonal liner assembly is provided comprising a plurality of interconnected liner panels connected together by a snap fit and received within a rough opening in a building wall or door. An interior trim ring is provided for attachment to the liner assembly to give a finished appearance to the interior side of the building wall or door. The plastic window assembly can be installed without the use of fasteners.

摘要： A door frame construction in which the jambs, threshold, lintel, and trim are of molded construction. The door frame may be molded in one piece and the jambs are provided with clips for attaching the jambs to studs framing the door opening. The clips are adjustably mounted on the jambs so that the door frame may be positioned properly despite misalignment of the studs to which the frame is attached. The jambs also carry clips for attaching the trim to the door frame, and these clips and the clips for mounting the frame on the studs may be formed integrally from a single strip of metal. The side and head trim are preferably formed separately and joined at the job site by means of a special corner construction which allows them to be joined without nails, screws or other external fasteners.
