    • The present implant is for fixing femoral fractures and the like. The implant consists of three main parts, namely a first part consisting of an angle element, a second part which forms a holder and a third part in the form of a screw. The angle element includes a sleeve for receiving the screw. Both the sleeve and the screw are intended to be passed into a channel provided through the neck and head of the femur of a patient. The angle element moreover includes a slide which is slidingly accommodated by the holder. The holder is, in its turn, secured by means of anchorage screws in the shaft of the femur. By cooperation between the slide and the holder the possibility is afforded that the angle element may move in relation to the shaft of the femur. The sleeve of the angle element is disposed at an angle in relation to the slide.

    • An orthopedic intramedullary fixation apparatus and system for use in hip and femur fracture surgery comprises an intramedullary nail, a dynamic lag screw structure comprising a longitudinal sheath and a lag screw, and securing means to fix the intramedullary nail relative to a femur. A dynamic channel created by the lag screw structure allows the lag screw to adjust dynamically, and thereby may permit further compression of the fractured bone to an optimal level as a patient begins to bear weight on it following surgery. Surgical fixation may be expedited, as a favorable point of access for a lag screw may be determined readily, particularly with obese patients in whom access to the trochanter may be problematic. Complications during surgery, such as accidental fracturing of the femoral neck and head and over-penetration of the lag screw may be avoided.

    • The present invention is an improved unique odd angle internal fixation device for both a transverse and longitudinal fracture located at the junction of the metaphysis and diaphysis of a long bone such as the proximal humerus. The improved odd angle internal fixation device includes an elongated lag screw and a rectangular shaped guide plate having multiple holes throughout the plate to host pins and screws and four tips on the front side of the plate. A lag screw with a cylindric head having a hexagonal cavity introduced through the diaphyseal segment of the fracture at three angles, 90, and 150 and 160 degrees, cross fixing the respective bone longitudinal and transverse fracture line and settling in the depth of the epiphysis. An additional locking screw is introduced on the top of the lag screw head to securely lock the lag screw after being settled into the epiphysis. The guide plate serves as a guide for the lag screw and allows the engagement of the head of the lag screw to the inner wall of its short barrel portion. The engagement would cause the guide plate which is attached to the barrel, to be compressed against the diaphyseal cortex as the lag screw advances deeper into the epiphysis at said three angles.

    • In an internal fixator having a sliding mechanism for treating femoral trochanteric fracture, it is intended to firmly hold the femoral head by setting a sliding direction at a high angle. The fixator is constituted of a sliding nail, a femoral head nail, and a sleeve plate. The sliding nail is inserted at a high angle of about 160° in relation to a femoral axis. The femoral head nail is inserted at a low angle of about 95°. A tip of the femoral head nail is located within the femoral head. The femoral head nail is combined and joined with the sliding nail within the bone. A sliding nail passes and slides within the sleeve of the sleeve plate. A sliding direction is consistent with a tangential direction of an inner cortical bone at a fracture side. Thus, displacement between the fracture edges is less likely to occur and excessive shortening can be avoided. With the femoral head nail, the femoral head can be firmly held.
