    • A system and method for synchronizing a parking meter clock is provided. The system includes a parking meter having a clock and an antenna coupled to the parking meter for receiving a wireless broadcast data including a time data. The parking meter further provided with a receiver and an interface. The receiver communicates with the antenna to demodulate the wireless broadcast data received by the antenna and the interface communicates with the receiver to communicate the wireless broadcast data to synchronize the clock on the parking meter. A method of synchronizing a clock on one or more parking meters is also provided that includes receiving a wireless broadcast data including a time-of-day data. The method further includes updating the clock on the parking meter based on the wirelessly broadcast data. In one aspect, the time-of-day data is based on an atomic clock.

    • A method for calibrating cables attached to a time measurement device is disclosed. Such a method may utilize a system including a calibration device that generates a plurality of synchronized measurement signals that are communicated to a time measurement device by a set of cables. By determining the relative arrival time of a common reference event of each of the measurement signals, the time measurement device can determine any skew that exists between each of the cables that input the measurement signals. The skew can then be used to compensate for varying cable skew in future time measurements. In one embodiment, the method can also be used to determine the arming latency of the time measurement device and by delaying the measurement signals in relation to the arming signals and observing the delay which causes complete synchronization of the measurement signals.

    • Disclosed herein is a method of synchronizing the actions of one or more devices using an RF time signal. In one embodiment, a clock in a device is synchronized to an RF time signal, and the clock is applied in a timed event performed by the device. The timed event may include determining a time of occurrence of an event associated with the device or starting a process performed by the device at a predetermined time. In an alternative embodiment, the method includes: coordinating a first timed event to be performed by a first device and a second timed event to be performed by a second device; receiving an RF time signal at the first and second devices; synchronizing a first clock in the first device and a second clock in the second device to a time indicated in the RF time signal; applying the first clock in the first timed event performed by the first device; and applying the second clock in the second timed event performed by the second device. The first and second events may be performed simultaneously or at different times. A global positioning system receiver within each device may be used to compensate for any propagation delay of the RF time signal between the transmitter of the RF signal and the device.

    • An apparatus and method for keeping time in a multi-player game is disclosed. The method involves presetting the time remaining for each player, and continuously decrementing a player's timer while the internal clock is associated with that player. A means is provided to end one player's turn and simultaneously begin the next player's turn; thereby changing the association of the internal clock. The list of players is kept ordered as a ring, so that when the last player's turn ends, the first player's turn begins.
