    • An electromechanically actuated coupling and control assembly is provided. In one embodiment, an overrunning clutch and control assembly having first and second operating modes is provided. The clutch and control assembly includes first and second clutch members supported for rotation relative to one another about a common rotational axis. The first and second clutch members have respective coupling faces that oppose each other. The coupling face of one of the clutch members has a pocket. The coupling face of the other clutch member has a locking formation. The assembly further includes a strut received within the pocket in the coupling face of the one clutch member and has an end that is pivotally movable outwardly of the pocket. The assembly still further includes a biasing spring. The assembly further includes an electromechanical apparatus including an actuator mounted for controlled linear reciprocating motion and in communication with the pocket. The assembly still further includes communication apparatus for wirelessly communicating electrical power from a source of electrical power to the electromechanical apparatus to cause the actuator to linearly move and pivot the strut end against the bias of the spring from a first position which corresponds to the first operating mode to a second position which corresponds to the second operating mode.

    • An electromagnetic clutch device includes: a meshing member; an electromagnetic coil; an armature; a cylindrical cam member; and a locking portion. The cam member is provided with a plurality of locked portions to be locked by the locking portion at different axial positions, such that the plurality of locked portions is formed adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction; the cam member rotates only by a first predetermined angle due to an axial movement of the armature from a first position to a second position, and the cam member further rotates only by a second predetermined angle due to a movement of the armature from the second position to the first position; and when locking of the locking portion is shifted from one of the plurality of locked portions to another locked portion circumferentially adjacent thereto so that the locking portion locks the another locked portion at a different axial position, the second meshing portion is meshed with the first meshing portion.

    • The invention relates to a bearing assembly (10) comprising at least one first bearing element (12) and a second bearing element (14) which are rotatably connected relative to each other along a common longitudinal axis (14). The bearing assembly (10) comprises a brake device (18) which inhibits the rotation of the two bearing elements (12) relative to each other by means of a frictional force produced by the brake device (18), wherein the brake device (18) has at least one frictional element (20) and at least one clamping device (22), by means of which the frictional element (20) is permanently clamped against one of the two bearing elements (12). The bearing assembly also comprises a coupling device (30) which can be moved between an open state and a closed state. In the closed state, the brake device (18) is engaged, whereby when the two bearing elements (12) rotate relative to each other, the rotation is inhibited by the frictional force produced by the brake device (18), and in the open state, the brake device (18) is disengaged.
