    • The invention provides an adjustable ladder mounted system to facilitate the use of a lifting or support apparatus. This steel clamping system distributes the weight to four (4) different locations of a permanently mounted fixed ladder. The clamping system adjusts for all common ladder rail/leg sizes, and differences in spacing of the ladder rungs. This design allows for ease of set-up and use by a single worker, results in a solidly supported lifting structure/pole/shaft, economically produced, and can be easily moved from one location to another.

    • An extension ladder stabilizer includes a ladder rung engagement rod having threads along at least a portion of its length and configured to be disposed in and project from each end of a hollow tubular rung of an extension ladder, a pair of internal supports having a substantially gear shaped hole in each, a pair of external supports having a substantially gear shaped boss with a through hole on a first face and an anchor channel on a second face opposite the first face on each, and a pair of ground engagement members. In a ladder stabilizing configuration, the extension ladder stabilizer is installed on a ladder and the ground engagement members are passed through the anchor channels and into the ground to secure the ladder from side slipping, kicking back, and kicking over when in use.

    • Ladder configurations and components are provided including an outer rail assembly which is longitudinally adjustable relative to an inner rail assembly. The outer rail assembly may include a pair of spaced apart outer rails each fixedly coupled to an associated sleeve or sliding mechanism. Each sleeve is in turn slidably coupled to an inner rail of the inner rail assembly. The outer rails may be positioned and oriented at an acute angle relative to the inner rails so as to provide an increased base distance between the two outer rails. Support structures are also disclosed which are coupled at multiple locations along a rail member and at least one location of a rung. Additionally, ladder hinges are disclosed including hinge components configured to effectively transmit loads from associated rails. In one embodiment the hinge may include a pinch prevention mechanism.

The brace includes a step portion extending from the central portion which attaches to the step. A method for using a ladder. The method includes the steps of placing a load on a step. There is the step of distributing the load to the rails from the step through a first and second brace attached to the first and second rails, respectively. Each brace is attached at least at two distinct points to the step and at least at two distinct points to a respective rail.
