摘要： Dimensionally stable nonwoven fibrous webs include a multiplicity of continuous fibers formed from one or more thermoplastic polyesters and polypropylene in an amount greater than 0% and no more than 10% by weight of the web. The webs have at least one dimension which decreases by no greater than 10% in the plane of the web when heated to a temperature above a glass transition temperature of the fibers. A spunbond process may be used to produce substantially continuous fibers that exhibit molecular orientation. A meltblown process may be used to produce discontinuous fibers that do not exhibit molecular orientation. In some embodiments, the fibers comprise a viscosity modifier and/or an anionic surfactant. The webs may be used as articles for filtration, sound absorption, thermal insulation, surface cleaning, cellular growth support, drug delivery, personal hygiene, medical apparel, or wound dressing.

摘要： Methods for forming a touch fastening material are described as including: providing a lengthwise-incoherent layer of staple fibers supported directly on a bed of bristle tips of a brush; needling the layer of staple fibers by cycling needles through the layer of staple fibers and into the brush; then, while the needled layer of staple fibers remains supported on the brush, fusing portions of the staple fibers by at least partially melting resin of the fibers disposed outside the brush; and then pulling the layer of fibers from the brush as a lengthwise-coherent touch fastening material having exposed fastening loops pulled from between the brush bristles.

摘要： A composite fiber having elastomer and method for making the same, and a substrate having the composite fiber and method for making the same are provided. The composite fiber includes a first composition and a second composition. The first composition is thermoplastic non-elastomer, and the second composition is thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). The second composition is in an amount of 5 to 70 weight % of the composite fiber. The first composition and the second composition are alternately distributed in a circumference of a cross-section of the composite fiber, and the length of the second composition is less than 50% of the total length of the circumference. The TPE can be dispersed uniformly and increase the adhesion between fibers, and the segmented fiber cross-section thereof further prevents the TPE from becoming too adhesive and affecting the processing during the fabrication of fibers and non-woven fabric substrates. Therefore, the non-woven fabric substrate or artificial leather made from the composite fiber has excellent textile feeling and physical properties.

摘要： A stretchable nonwoven fabric is provided, in which a uniform web comprising 70 to 100% by weight of polypropylene base heat-bondable composite fibers and 0 to 30% by weight of other organic fibers and having a web heat shrinking percentage "A" of 50% or lower at 100.degree. C. and a web heat shrinking percentage "B" of 50% or higher at 120.degree. C. provided that a difference "B"-"A" between the latter and the former is 20% or higher, the fibers being uniformly entangled together, has been shrinked as a result of sufficient crimping and more increased entanglement of the above composite fibers imparted through further heat-treatment, and which has an elastic recovery-at-30%-elongation of 80% or higher in both the warp and weft directions. This nonwoven fabric has no density variation, no crease, and excellent stretchability.

This fiber entanglement is useful as a base material for leather-like sheet materials.
