    • The present invention relates to a rotating patient chair mounted with an integrated ear diagnosis and treatment unit that controls the position of a microscope 48 and a monitor 50 rotating around the rotating patient chair 30 at a predetermined angle or 180 degrees, the unit including: suctioners 44, 52, a treatment board 46, a blood pressure tester 54 and a manipulating switch box 40 for controlling the diagnosis and treatment tools, and the monitor 50 and the microscope 48 positioned in correspondence with the patient's ears anatomically positioned at 180 degrees to enable the patient to observe all of the treatment processes to the ear parts including the thin, dark auditory canals and eardrums on the monitor 50 installed at an opposite side and to enable the practitioner to explain all of the treatment processes shown on the monitor to the patient and his guardians, thereby improving reliability on the practitioner and the treatment processes and maximizing the treatment effects, and performing diagnosis and treatment processes to the patient's ears by not letting the practitioner or patient move around but merely by rotating the ear diagnosis and treatment unit, minimizing discomfort and inconvenience to the practitioner or patient, shortening the medical treatment time and minimizing the space of a treatment room occupied by the diagnosis and treatment unit.

    • A chair of the type particularly adapted for use by dentists, ophthalmologists and the like but also useful for other purposes in which a back is pivoted relative to a seat and a leg rests extends outward from the seat. The seat with the back pivotally connected thereto is adapted to be moved about a vertical axis from a position in which the front to back axis of the seat is disposed in alignment with the longitudinal axis of the leg rest which projects laterally outward from one side of the base and a position in which said axis of the seat is transverse to said longitudinal axis of the leg rest in order to facilitate the seating of a person in the chair while the seat is in the latter position and then rotating the seat 90.degree. to permit the person to dispose his legs upon the leg rest which preferably is stationary relative to the base of the chair.The seat also is pivoted at its rear end and mechanism actuated by the pivoting of the back between a substantially upright position and a rearwardly extending inclined position causes the front edge of the seat to be elevated above the rear edge and thus, effects a sloping condition of the seat upon the base of the chair to contribute to the comfort of an occupant, especially when in the supine position upon the chair with the back extending substantially rearwardly from the rear edge of the seat.

    • In a treatment chair having a seat rest and a back rest for receiving a patient for treatment by an operator, the improvement of movable arm supports characterized by their ability to move for easy access to and from the side of the chair by the patient and easy access to the seated patient by the operator. These arm supports include a lower arm rest movable from a first position in which the arm rest is generally parallel with the side edge of the chair for supporting the lower arm of the seated patient to a second position in which the arm rest extends generally outwardly from the side edge of the chair for easy access to and from the chair from the side thereof by the patient. The movable arm supports further include upper arm rests mounted on the side edge of the back rest of the chair and extending forwardly of the chair in a generally arcuate position for supporting the upper arm of the patient from rearward and outward movement. The upper arm rests are constructed to move to other positions toward the seated patient only for allowing closer access to the seated patient by the operator.
