摘要： A maturity determination device includes an image capturing device to capture a image including a plurality of first and second pixels; and a signal processing circuit configured to find an area size ratio of an intensity distribution of light of a first wavelength band on the basis of a predetermined reference value based on pixel values obtained from the plurality of first and second pixels, and to generate maturity determination information in accordance with the area size ratio. The first pixel includes a first light transmission filter, and the second pixel includes a second light transmission filter. The intensity of the light of the first wavelength band reflected by the fruits and vegetables varies in accordance with the maturity level, and the intensity of the light of the second wavelength band reflected by the fruits and vegetables is substantially the same regardless of the maturity level.

摘要： A mobile picking platform system includes a mobile picking platform having a mobile carriage with a superstructure supporting multiple adjustable picking stations. A storage box carrier on the mobile picking platform has a pick position with storage boxes held at optimum heights for access by pickers on the picking stations, an unload position in which full storage boxes are unloaded onto a ground surface, and a load position for receiving empty storage boxes.A storage unit carries empty storage boxes and facilitates transfer of storage boxes to the mobile picking platform. A shuttle trailer may also be included in the system to transfer empty storage boxes to the mobile picking platform and storage unit. The shuttle trailer has a down position in which full storage boxes may be picked up from a ground surface, and an up position for transferring storage boxes to the storage unit or mobile picking platform.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a manual stem cutting and fruit removal apparatus. The device comprises a receptacle member and a handle attached thereto. A mouth and a blade are located adjacent at the top of the receptacle member. The blade is adjustably removable for case in replacement. A collection chamber is positioned beneath the mouth and the blade and includes a sloping surface for supporting the precut fruit and a cushioned surface for catching the fruit after the stem is severed. In use, the mouth receives the fruit while it is hanging on the tree. By manipulating the device, the blade engages and cuts the stem, and the fruit falls into the collection chamber.

摘要： A fruit picker includes a rigid, hollow sleeve having an opening at the top end thereof, and a fruit engaging mechanism connected to the sleeve at the top end for engaging a piece of fruit. The fruit engaging mechanism includes a string attached at one end thereof to a first point on the sleeve, the string passing through a hole provided in the sleeve at a second point which is separated from the first point by a predetermined arcuate distance along a side of the sleeve. The opposite end of the string extends down the outside of the sleeve so that it can be grasped by a user of the fruit picker. The string defines, in conjunction with the side of the sleeve, a variable size opening in which the piece of fruit to be picked is received. The fruit engaging mechanism further includes a biasing mechanism which is slidably attached to the string for biasing the string away from the first and second point so as to increase the size of the variable size opening. After the piece of fruit has passed through the variable size opening, the user pulls on the opposite end of the string to thereby reduce the size of the variable size opening and trap the piece of fruit within the sleeve. Thereafter, downward movement of the sleeve causes the fruit engaging mechanism to sever the piece of fruit from the tree branch.

The means to construct mechanical devices capable of producing various picking patterns are explained with examples given. Picking members capable of securely engaging individual citrus fruits are provided which will slidably engage, without damaging, branches of the tree. Multiple picking members on each picking arm are explained. Release means incorporated into the picking members for releasing branches are presented. A method of preventing damage during insertion of the picking arms is provided which provides two levels of impacting protection. Both stationary and continuous advance of the harvester during usage are explained.
