    • A deflection yoke which can simultaneously achieve suppression of induction current arising from an influence of a raster rotation correction coil and correction of misconvergence which varies the current balance of horizontal deflection coils. The deflection yoke of the present invention includes a raster rotation coil, and a pair of coils sharing a single core and respectively connected in series to an upper side horizontal deflection coil and a lower side horizontal deflection coil. The pair of coils are connected such that the polarities thereof may be opposite to each other. The pair of coils suppress current induced by a magnetic field of the raster rotation coil. In order to apply a bias to the pair of coils which share the core, a single bias coil is wound on the shared core on which the pair of coils are wound. Part of horizontal deflection current is supplied to the bias coil thereby to produce a difference in current flowing through the upper side horizontal deflection coil and the lower side horizontal deflection coil. Correction of misconvergence is allowed thereby.

The deflection yoke has a saddle shaped horizontal deflection coil located at a rear periphery of the color cathode ray tube main body, a saddle shaped vertical deflection coil located outside the saddle shaped horizontal deflection coil, and a core located outside the saddle shaped vertical deflection coil. The center portion of the screen side flange portion of either the horizontal deflection coil or the vertical deflection coil forms a dent toward the electron gun side.

The surface of the screen side flange portion of the horizontal deflection coil or the vertical deflection coil opposing the glass funnel portion of the color cathode ray tube conforms to the surface of the glass funnel portion.

    • A deflection system which improves picture distortion and misconvergence by eliminating the wrong winding of coil. in which a bobbin 20 for the deflection coil, whose partial cross section is of a funnel shape, is mounted on the outer peripheral surface of a cathode ray tube between a neck and a funnel for winding a deflection coil 26 thereon. When the deflection coil is wound from a bend onto the inner surface of a bobbin body, a coil layer regulating portion 40 is formed at a claw on the bend side. The coil layer regulating portion is a thick-wall portion formed on the inside of the claw on the bend side. By this thick-wall portion, a horizontal deflection coil 26 is wound on an average with respect to the bottom of respective bends 22 and 24 even when the horizontal deflection coil is wound from the bend 22, 24 onto the inner surface of the bobbin body. As a result, the coil is wound on an average with respect to a coil groove inside the bobbin, so that the wrong winding of coil is eliminated. Thereupon, the effective length of the coil and the coil distribution become symmetrical at the right and left of the bobbin 20, by which picture distortion and misconvergence can be improved.
