摘要： An annulus spacer for a fuel channel assembly of a nuclear reactor. The fuel channel assembly includes a calandria tube and a pressure tube positioned at least partially within the calandria tube. The annulus spacer includes a garter spring configured to surround a portion of the pressure tube to maintain a gap between the calandria tube and the pressure tube. The garter spring includes a first end and a second end. The annulus spacer also includes a connector coupled to the first end and the second end of the garter spring. The connector allows movement of the annulus spacer when the pressure tube moves relative to the calandria tube during thermal cycles of the fuel channel assembly. The annulus spacer further includes a girdle wire positioned substantially within the garter spring and configured to form a loop around the pressure tube.

摘要： An alignment system that employs jacking block assemblies and alignment posts around the periphery of the top plate of a nuclear reactor lower internals core shroud to align an upper core plate with the lower internals and the core shroud with the core barrel. The distal ends of the alignment posts are chamfered and are closely received within notches machined in the upper core plate at spaced locations around the outer circumference of the upper core plate. The jacking block assemblies are used to center the core shroud in the core barrel and the alignment posts assure the proper orientation of the upper core plate. The alignment posts may alternately be formed in the upper core plate and the notches may be formed in top plate.

摘要： A liquid metal nuclear reactor has a sodium tank, having a closed arcuate bottom and upstanding cylindrical wall for containing a reactor core in a pool of liquid metal coolant, which is disposed in a guard tank having a bottom and upwardly extending cylindrical shell, and a support inside the guard tank adjacent the closed bottom of the sodium tank to support the two tanks in spaced relationship to each other. The sodium tank has an open top spaced from an overlying closure deck, with the cylindrical shell of the guard tank secured to the closure deck. The support is preferably an inner ledge. Support legs are also provided about the bottom periphery of the guard tank adapted to rest on a base mat of a reactor cavity. The bottom of the guard tank may be a closed arcuate shape, or the bottom may be a flat bottom wall that rests on the base mat with the cylindrical shell divided into two radially spaced sections, with a pool of lead-bismuth alloy provided on the bottom to seal the spaces between the two shell sections at the lower region thereof.A metal barrier may be provided between the guard tank and the reactor cavity side wall to divide the area therebetween into two annular chambers, with a thermal insulation provided on the barrier outside to form the inner chamber into an oven-like chamber.

摘要： A support structure for supporting a pressurizer safety and relief valve system above a pressurizer vessel comprises a ring girder which surrounds the pressurizer vessel wall and is supported on pairs of lugs spaced about the pressurizer wall. The ring girder supports columns for the system at locations spaced from the lugs, and support means in the form of frames distribute the load on the lugs. The frames have upper and lower bars and outer vertical bars, with spaced inner vertical bars. Biasing means are provided to attach the frames to the lugs and distribute the forces, and a projection on the ring girder fits into a groove of a support bar on the upper bar of the frame.
