摘要： A power supply control circuit includes a plurality of ports, and a plurality of power supply units that each turn on and off the power supply from the power source to the load connected to the port. The power supply control circuit also includes an identification information acquisition unit, a sequence information storage unit, and a switch control unit. The identification information acquisition unit acquires identification information from the loads connected to the respective ports. The sequence information storage unit stores therein power-up sequence information and power-down sequence information specified for each of the loads. The switch control unit causes the power supply unit to turn on and off the power supply to the load corresponding to the identification information, according to the power-up sequence information and the power-down sequence information specified for the load.

摘要： A Power Over Ethernet (PoE) system, or other power over data lines system, includes Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) providing combined data and voltage over wires to a Powered Device (PD). Since cable length and PD load currents may not be known, there is a variable voltage drop along the cable between the PSE and PD. Prior to the PD being fully powered up, a test is performed by the PSE to determine the actual resistance or voltage drop of the cable, and the results are stored in a memory accessed by the PSE upon powering up. The PSE uses the stored information to adjust its voltage source to provide a target voltage at the PD input during full power operation. This may obviate the need for a voltage regulator at the PD. The test may only be conducted when the PSE is initially powered up or may be conducted periodically.

摘要： An electrical circuit for providing electrical power for use in powering electronic devices, such as monitors, televisions, white goods, data centers, and telecom circuit boards, is described herein. The electrical circuit includes an input terminal configured to receive an input power signal, an output terminal configured to provide an output power signal, and a forward converter coupled to the input and output terminals. The forward converter includes a transformer, and a primary side regulation circuit coupled to a primary side of the transformer. The primary side regulation circuit includes a switching device coupled to the primary side, a current sense circuit configured to sense a current level on the primary side, and a controller configured to generate a pulse-width modulated control signal delivered to the switching device as a function of the sensed current level to regulate the transformer to deliver the output power signal at a desired voltage level.
