摘要： In a multicolor air jet loom, a weft color which because of its long weft yarn repeat does not require picking for a considerable period of time and whose free end is damaged by the retaining air flow in the picking nozzle, is picked with an excess length equal to the damaged yarn part in the nozzle. The damaged portion of yarn is therefore not woven in and the resulting cloth has a defect-free edge zone.

摘要： Disclosed herein are apparatus and method of multi-shed weaving wherein a weft thread is inserted into a retained shed by a fluid jet. The movement of the fluid jet can be synchronized with the movement of the retained shed. The shed may be retained by a shed-retaining member or members adapted to removably receive one of the weft threads. A device is also disclosed for spreading apart the wrap threads to facilitate the insertion of the shed-retaining members into an open shed prior to its retention.

摘要： Multiple-color air jet looms successively insert different kinds of weft threads into warp sheds to weave a fabric of desired construction. The different weft threads are subjected to different resistances to their being drawn through a main nozzle and are carried on air jets under different conditions, so that the weft threads will be inserted unstably at different speeds. With the arrangement of the invention, selected weft threads for insertion are carried, one at a time, through the warp shed under respective different weft carrying forces suited for the weft threads. The different weft carrying forces may be produced by varying pressures at which air is ejected, intervals of time during which air is ejected under pressure, or the manner in which subnozzles are positioned along the warp shed. There is provided a control means for changing the air pressures and ejection time intervals in synchronism with operation of the air jet loom.

摘要： A single main air jet nozzle includes an outer portion secured to a central body. The central body includes one main orifice which delivers yarn to the main nozzle, and a plurality of weft thread introducing feed orifices. Each feed orifice includes a feed nozzle at the entrance thereto. There is thus provided for the selection of one or more weft threads to be introduced through the introductory or feed nozzles and into the main orifice, and then to the main nozzle from which the yarn is blown into the weaving compartment of an air jet loom. The unselected yarns are held back by a braking or reversing apparatus until selected.

摘要： A distributing unit synchronized with the shed-forming operation of a jet loom is positively coupled with a rocker arm carrying two insertion nozzles which are respectively aligned with the shed during alternate operating cycles, this unit temporarliy admitting high-pressure air to the currently aligned nozzle and to an associated thread clamp for the release of a weft yarn engaged thereby. The distributing unit comprises two interconnected outer disks bracketing an inner disk on a fixed axle on which the outer disks are held substantially immovable by a friction brake; the inner disk is limitedly rotatable by a cam-operated lever swingable about that axle and, in each of two working positions, connects two inlets for high-pressure air on one outer disk to respective outlets on the other outer disk leading to the currently aligned nozzle and to the associated thread clamp. The lever is connected with the inner disk by a stud which passes through a cutout in one of the outer disks having a width corresponding to the swing of the stud, thereby performing an initial angular adjustment of the outer disks relative to the inner disk.
