摘要： A closure for a dropper bottle includes a nozzle having a neck and a shoulder. The neck includes an aperture at an end thereof for dropwise dispensing of a liquid, and the shoulder includes an outstanding circumferential ring and threads disposed between the ring and the neck. A cap is provided with a top and an axially downwardly extending skirt. The top has a seat for sealably engaging the aperture, and the skirt has internal grooves for engaging the nozzle threads and an internal circumferential lip for sealably engaging the ring. The lip is spaced apart from the aperture for enabling simultaneous sealing of the aperture and the ring upon rotation of said cap onto said nozzle.

摘要： A closure device for a plastic container includes a liner and a plastic closure. The liner is sealed to the neck of the bottle at the end face of the neck and along a portion of the outer surface of the neck. The plastic closure engages the liner to retain the liner against the neck during sealing and to seal the area between the liner and the closure top from liquids present during cooling of the container. The closure includes a top wall, an annular closure skirt depending from the top wall, an annular outer flexible seal depending from the top wall, and at least one annular pressure ring. The outer flexible seal retains an outer edge of the liner against the outer surface of the container neck and prevents ingress of liquids. The annular pressure ring engages the liner to retain the liner against the end face of the neck during sealing.

The closure has an annular sealing rib which extends within the cavity defined by the top portion and the skirt portion. The rib includes a first portion having a substantially cylindrical inner surface extending away from the underside of the top portion and disposed radially inward of the skirt and a second, frusto-conical, portion contiguous with the end of the first portion distal to the underside of the top portion and extending radially inwardly and terminating in a circular free edge, such that during engagement of the cap with the neck of the container, the second, frusto-conical, portion will be engaged by the free end of the neck and folded back against the first portion of the rib to form a gas-tight seal between the neck of the container and the closure.

摘要： A container neck and child-resistant closure for the neck are disclosed. The closure includes an inner part and an outer part, and castellations on the parts which mate when the outer part is displaced axially, to lock the parts together for rotation. A ratchet mechanism including ratchet ramps and cantilever leaf springs biases the inner and outer parts axially and rotationally apart, and allows relative rotation of the parts in one direction of rotation, when the castellations are not engaged. The angle through which outer part has to be turned to enable the castellations to be engaged may be less than 45.degree. and preferably less than 25.degree.. The closure may be moved between fully opened and closed positions by rotation through less than 360.degree. and preferably about 90.degree.. A tamper-evident ring, and a retaining means for retaining the closure in the closed position, may also be provided.

摘要： A one-piece plastics closure for a carbonated beverage bottle has a sealing ring which extends inwardly and downardly towards the closure mouth from its attachment to the closure body. When the closure is fitted the ring extends around the outer radius and over the annular top face of the bottle neck, backed by a stepless abutment and reaction surface of the closure body. The latter surface engages the sealing ring mechanically above the container top face to determine the fitted position of the closure and create a seal when the pressure in the bottle is low. When the product pressure is high, however, the effective seal is made between the sealing ring and the outer radius of the bottle neck. For that purpose the abutment and reaction surface is roughened, so allowing access for the product pressure to the back of the sealing ring.

The tamper indicating band has an inwardly directed bead which cooperates with a flange on the container neck which allows the band to rotate with the cap but prevents the band from being removed past the container flange. Alternatively the tamper indicating band contains spaced ratchet teeth which engage ratchet teeth on the container neck to prevent further rotation. A rotary seal is provided between the cap and container neck which is effective for an axial length A greater than the sum of a distance B between the cap bead and the container flange when the cap is tightened or the axial movement of the cap in rotating the ratchet teeth into contact and the distance C which the frangible webs stretch before fracture. Thus the rotary seal prevents access to the product prior to breaking the tamper indicating band loose from the cap.

摘要： A plastic closure for a container, such as a bottle having an externally threaded neck, has a top wall, an internally threaded sidewall, and a seal comprising outer and inner concentric sealing members that extend downwardly from an inner surface of the top wall. The outer sealing member extends downwardly farther than the inner sealing member and is substantially thicker than the inner sealing member. The outer sealing member is disposed to engage an outer corner of the rim of the neck of the bottle when the closure is threaded onto the bottle, and the inner sealing member is disposed to engage the top of the rim after engagement of the corner with the outer sealing member. The outer sealing member deflects outward slightly, and the inner sealing member deflects upwardly and inwardly. Movement of the top wall of the closure toward the rim is limited by a shoulder between the sealing members, so that when the closure is fully threaded onto the bottle, the inner sealing member is spaced from the inner surface of the top wall of the closure.
