    • Provided is an injection molding machine using a built-in type motor as a measuring electric servomotor. In order to reduce the entire length of the machine (the injection molding machine), the metering electric motor is exemplified by a hollow built-in type motor, which includes a cylindrical stator, and a cylindrical rotor positioned in the stator. A sleeve is fixed in the rotor of the built-in type motor, and a member fixing the rear end portion of a screw and the sleeve are connected/fixed. Moreover, a nut member as a straight portion of a ball screw mechanism for converting the rotation of an injecting electric motor into linear motions and the sleeve are connected/fixed.

    • An injection assembly for an injection molding machine includes a plasticizing screw defining an axis, a housing, and a drive train, which is accommodated in the housing, for moving the plasticizing screw in an axial direction and for turning the plasticizing screw. The drive train includes an injection drive having a screw mechanism with a threaded shaft moveable in direction of an injection stroke, with the plasticizing screw being rigidly connected to the threaded shaft, and a rotary drive having a drive element, with the plasticizing screw being connected to the drive element such that the plasticizing screw is able to turn with the drive element and able to move in axial direction. The drive train is movably supported independently from the rotary drive by a support structure which includes a radial bearing disposed in an area between a screw-proximal end of the threaded shaft and the plasticizing screw, and a linear guide securely fixed to the housing for guiding the drive train during movement in the axial direction.

    • An electromagnetic coaxial driving injection apparatus, having a linear motor for driving injection and a rotation motor for metering. The linear motor and the rotation motor of both the injection and metering motors and an injection screw are set on a common axis. A connecting device connects moving parts of the motors with the injection screw. Stationary parts of the motors are fastened on a frame and forward-backward moving unit, not moving during injection and metering. Due to the arrangement of the moving parts and the injection screw on a single axis, moving parts are lessened, and transmission losses are minimized. Since the number of structural parts is low, only the moving parts of the motors move during injection while the stationary parts thereof remain at rest, thus greatly reducing inertia. Furthermore, since the moving axis of the injection screw and the injection screw are linked, without being connected with stators or other structural parts, injection is performed with minimal friction, enhancing effectiveness of the apparatus. The main characteristic of the present invention is that, due to direct driving of injection without mechanical transmission, the effects of hysteresis and backlash are avoided. Furthermore, inertia and friction are reduced. The present invention increases the response and reappearance of the system.

    • An electro-mechanical drive apparatus uses a single motor and three one-way clutches to provide both injection and extruder functions in the injection unit of an injection molding machine. When engaged, the first one-way clutch couples the feed screw to the frame of the injection unit, the second clutch couples the drive motor to the feed screw, and the third clutch couples the drive motor to the ball screw mechanism. During rotation of the drive motor in a forward (injection) direction, (a) the third one-way clutch engages, rotating the ball screw mechanism which results in forward movement of the feed screw; (b) the second one-way clutch slips; and (c) the first one-way clutch engages to prevent rotation of the feed screw as it moves forward. When the drive motor is rotated in a reverse (extrusion) direction, (a) the second one-way clutch engages, rotating the feed screw, (b) the first one-way clutch slips, and (c) the third one-way clutch slips, allowing rotation of the ball screw mechanism commensurate with the rearward movement of the feed screw. Three versions of the drive apparatus, each having its own specific advantages, are disclosed: (I) a double shaft motor mounted adjacent separate drive couplings for extrusion (feed screw rotation) and injection (ball screw rotation--feed screw translation); (II) a single shaft motor connected by a mechanical coupling to a transmission that alternately drives the feed screw and ball screw; and (III) a hollow (or double) shaft motor axially aligned with the feed screw and ball screw mechanism, so that one rotor shaft is coupled to the feed screw and the shaft is coupled to the ball screw mechanism.

    • The invention is to provide an in-line screw type injection molding machine which can have a simplified configuration of an injection mechanism and a metering mechanism. The in-line screw type injection molding machine is characterized by comprising: a metering motor 9 which rotationally drives a rear end side of a screw; a screw mechanism which includes a nut body rotating integrally with the screw, and a screw shaft fitted to the nut body, the screw mechanism converting rotational motion of the screw shaft into linear motion of the screw through the nut body; an injection motor 16 which rotationally drives the screw shaft; an injection motor drive circuit which drives the injection motor 16 to allow a position of the screw to follow a predetermined position command pattern; a metering motor drive circuit which drives the metering motor 9 to allow rotation of the metering motor 9 to follow a predetermined speed setting pattern; and an adder-subtracter circuit which adds or subtracts a speed setting pattern signal of the metering motor drive circuit to or from a speed command signal of the injection motor drive circuit so as to compensate an axial displacement of the screw caused by the rotation of the metering motor 9.

    • An object is to increase the mechanical efficiency of an injection molding machine, decrease the inertia, and decrease the axial length. The injection molding machine comprises a cylinder member; an injection member disposed within the cylinder member such that the injection member can advance and retract; an injection motor (82); and a transmission shaft which is connected to the injection member such that the transmission shaft can rotate relative to the injection member. The transmission shaft has a rotation transmission portion, to which rotation of the injection motor (82) is transmitted, as well as a motion conversion portion for converting rotational motion to linear motion. The injection motor (82) and the transmission shaft are disposed on the same axis, and the transmission shaft is advanced and retracted inside the rotor (92) of the injection motor (82). In this case, since rotation of the injection motor (82) is transmitted directly to the transmission shaft without intervention of a speed reduction mechanism, a pulley, and the like, mechanical efficiency can be improved, and inertia can be decreased. Further, the time required for changeover from the injection stage to the pressure holding stage is shortened. Since the transmission shaft is advanced and retracted inside the rotor (92) of the injection motor (82), the injection molding machine can be reduced in axial length.
