摘要： Disclosed is a device and method for repairing a partially or totally ruptured tendon. The device comprises an implant placed inside or outside of the tendon on either side of the rupture in order to strengthen the ruptured area during repair. Once positioned inside the tendon, the tendon is held in place so it can heal either by sewing or stapling through the tendon and implant, or by any other suitable method that utilizes the implant to provide strength to the ruptured area. In this manner the tendon can heal with less chance of rupturing again prior to healing.

摘要： An improved endoprosthetic device includes a modular rotational component affixed along the stem of a humeral prosthesis or a femoral prosthesis. The rotational component axis of rotation is coaxial with the stem, and its axis of rotation is located in close proximity to the intramedullary stem of the prosthesis or in close proximity to the distal articulation of the prosthesis. The rotational component includes a lobe ring adapted to limit the axis of rotation of the component. The lobe ring further includes ramp features that gradually limit the rotation of the rotational component shaft, thereby reducing the felt impulse when rotated to a stop, or no ramp feature to allow maximum rotation as allowed by the patient's soft tissue.

摘要： An apparatus for anchoring elongate strands within a longitudinal tunnel is disclosed. At least two cams are arranged longitudinally adjacent each other along a longitudinal axis. A first anchor member includes a first cam-contacting surface and a first strand-contacting surface. The first cam-contacting surface is selectively operatively connected to a first cam. A second anchor member includes a second cam-contacting surface and a second strand-contacting surface. The second cam-contacting surface is selectively operatively connected to a second cam. An elongate strand is positioned between the tunnel wall and the first or second strand-contacting surfaces. Rotation of a selected cam causes the selected cam to selectively apply a force to a corresponding first or second cam-contacting surface to urge the corresponding first or second strand-contacting surface away from the longitudinal axis to produce frictional engagement of the elongate strand with both a tunnel wall and the first or second strand-contacting surface.

摘要： Methods and devices for securing soft tissue to a rigid material such as bone are disclosed herein. A bone anchor is described that comprises a base and a top such that suture material may be compressed between surfaces on the base and top to secure the suture to the anchor. Also described is an inserter that can be used to insert the bone anchor into bone and move the anchor top relative to the anchor base to clamp suture material there between. Also described is a soft-tissue and bone piercing anchor and associated inserter. Methods are described that allow use of the bone anchors to provide multiple lengths of suture material to compress a large area of soft tissue against bone.

摘要： An arthroscopic method for reattaching a rotator cuff tendon to a humeral head may include creating a trough in the top of the humeral head, creating a cavity in the lateral portion of the humeral head, creating one or more tunnels between the cavity and the trough, retrieving sutures affixed to a loose end of the tendon through the trough, at least one tunnel, and the cavity; and passing the sutures through a tensioning and securing device, which is then implanted in the cavity, and the sutures are variously pulled or released to pull, tension, or release the sutures until the tendon is secured in the trough. The trough is preferably created using a unique extendable, angled surgical burr.

摘要： An implant delivery system for delivering a sheet-like implant is disclosed. The device includes an implant spreader assembly disposed proximate the distal end of a delivery shaft. The implant spreader assembly includes a first arm and a second arm. The arms are coupled to the delivery shaft such that the first arm and second arm are moveable between a closed position and an open position. When the first and second arms are in the closed position, the arms extend generally in the longitudinal direction. When pivoting to the open position the distal end of each arm travels in a generally transverse direction to spread a sheet-like implant.
