摘要： A large round baler is provided with a weighing arrangement for the detection of the weight of a cylindrical bale. The weighing arrangement is arranged to detect the force that a cylindrical bale applies to a support element located in the baling chamber and movable relative to the bale for supporting substantially the entire weight of the bale during discharge of the bale from the baling chamber. So that a true weight reading is obtained, the side pressure exerted on the bale by the side walls is released before the weight measurement takes place. Additionally, an inclination sensor is provided for sending information to an evaluation arrangement which makes an adjustment in a sensed weight to account for any engagement of the bale with the sides of the baling chamber due to side-to-side inclination.

When the combine is angled from a level position, harvest speed is lowered to prevent grain losses from increasing above a target level. The control continuously learns tilt angle, loss and throughput correlation, and the speed reduction is selected based upon the learned correlation. In the preferred embodiment, throughput is estimated utilizing rotor variable drive actuator pressure (RVDAP), and a target RVDAP is modified for short periods of time in accordance with the learned correlation.

The method uses an empty baler tare weight and a full baler weight to determine a raw bale weight. The cosine of the slope upon which the baler sits is then calculated based upon the empty baler weight as it sits and the empty baler tare weight. The cosine of the angle of slope and raw bale weight are the used to determine an actual bale weight. Further steps are provided for compensating in the tare weight of the baler for the weight of wrapping material consumed in the formation of each bale.
