    • A hermetically sealed rotary compressor includes a generally cylindrical sealed vessel having an oil reservoir defined therein for accommodating a quantity of lubricating oil, a drive unit within the sealed vessel, and a compressor mechanism within the sealed vessel. The compressor mechanism includes a cylinder having a compression compartment defined therein and also having upper and lower openings, an eccentric cam provided on a crankshaft for rotation together therewith, and a ring-shaped piston mounted on the crankshaft while encircling the eccentric cam and capable of undergoing a planetary motion in contact with the eccentric cam during rotation of the eccentric cam. The cylinder has a refrigerant intake port defined therein in communication with the compression compartment. A radial vane is slidably accommodated in the cylinder for reciprocating movement in a direction radially of the cylinder and having a radial inner end held in sliding contact with an outer peripheral surface of the ring-shaped piston. An oil supply tube having first and second open ends opposite to each other is disposed with the first open end communicated with the oil reservoir and the second open end communicated with the compression compartment while a generally intermediate portion of the oil supply tube extends outside the sealed vessel.

    • A friction spinning apparatus comprises a combing roller (19) for opening and feeding fibers in a duct (16, 15) to a throat (Q) formed between the outer surfaces of a pair of perforated and smooth surface drums (10, 12) arranged in parallel to each other and rotating in the same direction. A yarn (Y) formed at the throat (Q), by frictional contact between the fed fibers and the surfaces caused by a suction force, is withdrawn along the throat (Q). The duct (15, 16) is arranged to feed the fibers in an air stream having a direction inclined to the yarn axis (YL) and has a nozzle (17) in the form of a double pipe in the midportion thereof. A compressed air is ejected from the annular slit (17a) between the inner and outer pipe of the nozzle (17) to drag the fibers out from the nozzle (17) to cause them to stretch, whereby the fibers can be conveyed on the throat (Q) in the stretched state.

    • A method of transferring full packages in a spinning frame having a plurality of spinning stations arranged in a row on each longitudinal side of the frame, a single run package transferring conveyor disposed between the opposite rows of the spinning stations and a doffing unit which provides doffing service at each spinning station while traveling around the machine, is provided herein. The doffing unit performs its doffing service at a station which calls for doffing of its full package only when a package is absent on the conveyor at a position corresponding to the station at which the doffing unit is then stopped, but it defers its doffing operation at the station if a package is present at said corresponding position on the conveyor. The conveyor is caused to move when the number of those packages which are undoffed due to deferment amounts to a predetermined value.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the movement of the conveyor, which is set normally in a moving state, is interrupted only if there is no doffed package on the conveyor at a doffing position corresponding to a spinning station when the doffing unit traveling around the machine comes to and stops at that spinning station, whereupon the doffing unit is operated to perform its doffing service there; but the conveyor continues to run if there is any doffed package at that doffing position, until that position becomes clear of any such package, and doffing service is provided at the station when its doffing position on the conveyor is thus cleared of any other package.

Each group of diaphragms has common piping having a regulator for air pressure and branched to the diaphragms belonging to the group. One end of the piping is connected to a common high pressure air source, from which air of a uniform pressure controlled by the regulator is supplied to the diaphragms belonging to the group. Since a weighting force onto a top side roller is a function of a air pressure supplied to the diaphragm, it can be changed or diminished at once in a centralized manner by adjusting the regulator. Therefore, troublesome adjustment of individual pressing units is unnecessary.

    • A method and apparatus for supplying operational fluid to a traveling-type working machine, such as a yarn piecer or an auto-doffer, which serves a parent machine, such as a spinning frame. The working machine utilized in the present invention has a secondary fluid tank and at least one nozzle attached to an air cylinder. Prior to the working machine serving the parent machine, the nozzle is advanced by an air cylinder, operated by fluid supplied from the secondary fluid tank, so that it engages with one of the air intakes provided on the parent machine. Then operational fluid is introduced from a primary fluid source into the working machine through the engaged nozzle and air intake, and thereby the working machine carries out a specific operation for the parent machine. Simultaneously, the operational fluid is distributed to the secondary fluid tank in preparation for the next engagement of the nozzle and the air intake. According to the present invention, the working machine is free from the burden of a heavy and voluminous air compressor and a troublesome long connecting hose.
