摘要： An infrared object detector, especially for an air conditioner is provided with a light receiving unit including a light block between a pair of hemispherical Fresnel lenses arranged in parallel on a printed circuit board, so that light receiving views intersect each other to thereby define three detection areas. From a signal output from the light receiving unit, the distance to a detected object is determined through a signal processing circuit and a program built in a microcomputer. The rotational speed of a fan in the air conditioner is classified into three stages according to the determined distance, and a command is issued for controlling the operation of an air conditioner according to the number, movements, movement degrees to persons. Therefore, the airflow of the air conditioner is controlled based on the command, thereby performing an optimum air conditioning. Further, the infrared object detector can be applied to a camcorder or a camera, to determine the distance to an object more accurately.

The mold is prepared to mold a plurality of semiconductor devices. The plurality of plungers are assembled with the plunge block to operate at the same time. Each of the plurality of plungers includes a load sensor and/or a contact sensor, so as to sense separately whether the plungers are improperly operating.

摘要： A multi-functional peripheral device and a method thereof that indicates a shortage of printing media. In a method of indicating a shortage of printing media in a multi-functional peripheral which receives a predetermined data including fax data from an external source and prints the received data, the method includes printing the received fax data on a printing medium; determining through a predetermined fax protocol data which is received from the external source at the time of completing printing on a current printout page, as to whether there is fax data to be printed on the next printing medium; when there is fax data to be printed on the next printing medium, determining by using a sensor as to whether there is a printing medium to print out the fax data; and when there is no printing medium, displaying a message on the lower portion of the current printout page, indicating that there is more fax data to be printed, and storing the fax data in a memory. The fact that there is fax data waiting to be printed, can be indicated in the lower portion of the last page of the printouts such that the user is saved from inconvenient processes such as contacting the external source to check whether all the intended pages are safely received or not.

摘要： Two pairs of pyroelectric devices are each mounted on a cone-shaped substrate to precisely control their alignment. Each cone-shaped substrate is a part of a sensor module which also supports an attenuator, along with a transistor and a resistor chip associated with each pyroelectric device of the pair. The sensor module is provided with a silicon filter through which infrared radiation is transmitted to the pair of pyroelectric devices. Each module is mounted in an inner space formed by two hemispherical lenses which serve to direct light to the module. Two such hemispherical lens-sensor modules are provided in a precise optical arrangement designed to operate in conjunction with associated circuitry in order to detect infrared radiation from any of six distinguishable zones. Applications of such a device include for example cameras and air conditioning systems.

摘要： An object detector for an air conditioner has a signal detection input unit in which a light block is provided between a pair of Fresnel lenses spaced in parallel by a predetermined distance on a printed circuit board, thereby defining substantially three detection areas. The signal detection input unit detects the number, locations and movement distance of persons present indoor from a received signal, and outputs a signal representative of the information.
