    • The improved color image recording apparatus comprises a raster image processor to create scan image data; a color management system to correct the color/density of the scan image data; an exposing device with which a photosensitive material is scan exposed by multi-channel exposure to record a latent image in accordance with the corrected scan image data; a developing device with which the photosensitive material having the latent image formed thereon is subjected to a development process so as to create a hard copy having the image reproduced thereon; an instrument to measure the color/density of the image in the hard copy; and a system for revising the conditions of exposure in the exposing device and/or the conditions of correction in the color management system in accordance with the result of measurement with the instrument. This color image recording apparatus ensures that hard copies having print-quality images and a high degree of similarity to the actual print can be output consistently with satisfactory color stabilization and reproduction. Further, the apparatus is capable of outputting hard copies of large sizes up to A1 at high speed with high efficiency.

    • An image-quality stabilizer for an electrophotographic apparatus forms a toner patch on a photoreceptor drum, detects the amount of toner attracted to the photoreceptor drum by an optical sensor, and controls each processing device so that the detected value is equal to a reference value which has been detected and stored when the number of image forming operations performed is low. After the control, the toner patch is transferred to a transfer sheet, and the amount of toner remaining on the photoreceptor drum is detected. The reference value is adjusted based on the detected value so as to compensate for a lowering of transfer efficiency. Or the lowering of transfer efficiency is compensated by controlling variables such as transfer output so that the detected value is equal to a reference residual value which has been detected and stored when the number of image forming operations performed is low. This arrangement restrains a lowering of image density due to a change in the transfer efficiency. It is therefore possible to control stabilizing the image quality accurately and to form images of stable quality.

    • The present invention has an object to provide an exhaust device for a diesel engine capable of surely burning flammable gas in an exhaust route.In the exhaust device for the diesel engine, liquid fuel (6) is supplied from a liquid-fuel supply source (5) to a gas generator (3). The gas generator (3) converts the liquid fuel (6) to flammable gas (7) and has a flammable-gas flow outlet (9) of the with which an exhaust route (1) is communicated upstream of a diesel-particulate-filter (2). The flammable gas (7) flowed out from the flammable-gas flow outlet (9) is burnt with oxygen in exhaust gas (10) to produce combustion heat. The exhaust gas (10) heated by the thus produced combustion heat can burn the exhaust-gas fine particles remaining at the filter (2). The gas generator (3) is provided with a catalyst chamber (51) which houses a catalyst (4). Catalyst-combustion heat is generated in the catalyst chamber (51) which is arranged along an external periphery of a peripheral wall (1a) of the exhaust route (1).

    • A photoreceptor having a marking area whose optical reflection property differs from that of a non-marking area is formed in a portion of a surface of an electrically conductive substrate. Setting the angle .theta. within this range enables a photoconductive layer of a uniform characteristic to be laminated on the electrically conductive substrate even when the marking area is formed on the surface of the substrate. With this arrangement, since information for optimizing the image quality of copies is obtained from the same location of a photoreceptor drum with reference to the marking area, a photoreceptor for electrophotography always produces copies of stable image quality.

    • An image forming apparatus includes (i) a photosensitive drum for holding an electrostatic latent image on its surface, the photosensitive drum being driven to rotate by a motor, (ii) charging means for charging the surface of the photosensitive drum so that the surface has a predetermined polarity and a predetermined potential, (iii) exposing means for forming an electrostatic latent image by exposing the charged surface of the photosensitive drum, and (iv) developing means for developing the electrostatic latent image, and is arranged so that after stop of the motor due to occurrence of a trouble, during an inertial rotation time in which the photosensitive drum rotates due to an inertial force, the exposing means executes discharge exposure with respect to a charge remaining region on the surface of the photosensitive drum.
