    • An interface is provided for processing digital signals in a standardized format in a distributed antenna system. One example includes a unit disposed in a distributed antenna system. The unit includes an interface section and an output section. The interface section is configured for outputting a first complex digital signal and a second complex digital signal. The first complex digital signal is generated from a digital signal in a standardized format received from a digital base station. The output section is configured for combining the first complex digital signal and the second complex digital signal into a combined digital signal. The output section is also configured for outputting the combined digital signal. The combined digital signal comprises information to be wirelessly transmitted to a wireless user device.

    • A PoE powered device and method of operation are provided. The device includes a first port unit configured to negotiate receipt of a level of PoE power from a power sourcing equipment. The power is received on a first pair of taps on a first communication port. The significant drawback of these digital repeaters is that the computational complexity or the processing speed has to be very high in order to guarantee, particularly when compensating for echo, that the necessary delay does not excessively impair the performance. The aim of the invention is to provide a structure of the repeater in which the computational complexity is reduced without this reduction having a negative effect on the performance during signal filtering and/or suppression of natural oscillation. To this end, the invention provides that in order to carry out bandpass filtering, adaptive pre-equalization and suppression of the natural oscillation, the components of the repeater in the uplink branch and downlink branch are arranged in a designated sequence, whereby duplex filters are used for coupling both repeater branches to the antennas. In addition, only one reconfiguration in the modules at the user is necessary in order to adapt to user-specific requirements. The invention is used in the field of digital repeaters for data systems technology and telecommunications technology.

    • Systems and methods for developing a configuration plan for communication transport links of a distributed antenna system are provided. The distributed antenna system includes a unit communicating with remote antenna units over the communication transport links. The unit receives signals from base stations. Characteristics of each of the signals are determined. The characteristics include, for each signal, a frequency occupancy, a digital bandwidth, and a coverage zone to which to provide the signal. The frequency occupancy includes the minimum frequency component and the maximum frequency component of the signal. The digital bandwidth is a bandwidth for communicating the signal via the communication transport links. A hardware capability of the distributed antenna system, such as a respective available bandwidth for each communication transport link, is also determined. The configuration plan for transporting the digital representations of the signals is determined based on the hardware capability and the characteristics of the signals.

    • A signal repeating system for a wireless network includes an antenna configured for transceiving signals between a base station and a user equipment device. Repeating circuitry is coupled to the antenna and defines an uplink path for signals from the user equipment device to the base station and a downlink path for signals from the base station to the user equipment device. The repeating circuitry includes gain circuitry and gain control circuitry that is coupled to the gain circuitry. The gain control circuitry is operable for varying the gain of the repeating circuitry according to a waveform. Measurement circuitry measures the receive power in the uplink path over time from the user equipment device. Processing circuitry cross-correlates the inverted gain variation waveform with the measured receive power for determining the existence of traffic from user equipment devices in the uplink path.
