摘要： A service-area road that is a road in a service area such as a rest area or parking area of an expressway is determined to be a road on which a vehicle travels on when the following three conditions are satisfied. A first condition is satisfied when the vehicle travels in an expressway. A second condition is satisfied when a main road of the expressway and the service-area road are designated as candidate roads in map matching process. A third condition is satisfied when a difference between the heading direction of the vehicle and the traffic direction of the main road is equal to or greater than a predetermined value. Thus, it can be as promptly as possible determined that the vehicle is traveling on the service-area road, allowing the vehicle mark to be accurately displayed on the service-area road on the displayed map.

摘要： A method of preparing a polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel contains the steps of charging an aqueous solution of a polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of hydrolysis of not less than 95 mol % and an average polymerization degree of not less than 500 into a container, the aqueous solution containing the polyvinyl alcohol in a concentration of not less than 5 wt. %, cooling the aqueous solution of the polyvinyl alcohol at a temperature of from - (minus) 9.degree. C. to - (minus) 3.degree. C., subjecting the aqueous solution of the polyvinyl alcohol to physical stimulation, and then maintaining the aqueous solution of the polyvinyl alcohol at a temperature of from - (minus) 5.degree. C. to + (plus) 5.degree. C. The polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel may be contained in a plastic container. An MRI phanton is composed of the plastic container containing such polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel.

摘要： A method of melt-adhering together a member (A) having a layer (a) of a thermoplastic resin exposed on at least a portion on the surface on the outer side thereof and a member (B) having a layer (b) of a thermoplastic resin exposed on at least the surface on the inner side thereof, wherein a self-press holding mechanism is formed on the portions on where the layer (a) and the layer (b) are to be melt-adhered together to press the member (A) and the member (B) onto each other and to hold the pressed state thereof, and the press-adhered portion is irradiated with a laser beam in a state where the layer (a) and the layer (b) are press-adhered together to effect the melt-adhesion. Therefore, the melt-adhesion is effected even without fixing the portions to be melt-adhered together by using an external pressing mechanism, and the container can be sealed at high speeds and stably despite the member thereof has a relatively large thickness.
