摘要： An in-car navigation device depicts dynamic travel information (congestions, weather, etc.) in the context of a schematic display of the actual roads that the information relates to. In one implementation, the schematic view is a linear representation of the route and that schematic linear representation is displayed at the same time but separate from a map of a 2-D or 3-D representation of the actual road being traveled along and the current location of the device on that road. The device can send a request to a remote server over a wireless communications network for dynamic travel information relevant to a defined route and receive and display that information.

摘要： A method for transmitting signaling information, such as cryptographic key synchronization information, over a data path of a network, the data path having an originating end and a terminating end. The method uses in-band signaling to transmit the signaling information from the originating end of the data path to the terminating end of the data path without consuming any bandwidth of the data path. More specifically, the method includes the steps of receiving user data to be transmitted over the data path and encrypting this user data with a cryptographic key, thereby generating cipher data. The method next includes processing the cipher data such that the cipher data includes the signaling information, and mapping the cipher data including the signaling information into a traffic unit for transmission over the data path.

摘要： A Wire Bonder has a capillary clamped to a horn. An ultrasonic transducer applies ultrasonics to the horn whereby the ultrasonic transducer is controlled by a parameter P. For calibration of the parameter P, a pizoresistive sensor integrated into a semiconductor chip is used. The capillary is lowered onto the semiconductor chip and a bond force is applied to it. Afterwards, a value P1 of the parameter P is applied to the ultrasonic transducer and the output signal of the sensor is stored as the reference value URef as soon as the transient reaction is concluded. The bond force is selected great enough so that the capillary does not slide back and forth. The Wire Bonder, for example after changing the capillary, is then recalibrated in that a correction factor &ggr; is analogously determined so that the amplitude of the sensor signal assumes the value URef when the ultrasonic transducer is operated with the value P2=&ggr;*P1.

摘要： One aspect of the disclosure is directed to a system and method for determining the propagation delay for a signal to traverse an optical fiber between two transceivers. The method is performed by a first network element and includes transmitting a message to a second transceiver over a first optical fiber. The method further includes configuring both network elements such that the first NE receives a reply message from the second NE on the first optical fiber. This reply message includes an indication of the internal time for the second NE to transmit the reply message. Accordingly the one way propagation delay on the first optical fiber can be determined. Another aspect is directed to a system and method for using the determined one way propagation delay to synchronize clocks of the two NEs using a symmetric network synchronizing protocol such as precision timing protocol, and correcting for differences in the one way propagation delays which make up the round trip propagation delay. Some embodiments can do this without stopping the operation of the network while pausing (buffering) data flows while the one way propagation delays are determined.

摘要： A device for holding a surgical instrument having a body, an instrument engagement device and a knob. The body has a proximal end, a distal end and a passageway positioned through the body. The instrument engagement device is positioned in the passageway and has at least two prongs moveable relative to each other to hold the surgical instrument therebetween. The knob is preferably positioned on the proximal end of the body and operatively associated with the at least two prongs so that movement of the knob causes movement of the prongs. The prongs may further include at least one ridge for engaging at least one slot on the surgical instrument. The knob may further comprise a cap at its proximal end positioned and designed for impact, for example, by a hammer, to facilitate movement of the surgical instrument into the patient. The knob may also include a locking mechanism to fix the position of the prongs.
