    • A closed compressor includes a closed vessel having an oil sump in which lubricating oil which is incompatible with a refrigerant is accommodated. A compression mechanism, to which a rotary shaft is connected, is accommodated in the closed vessel. An electric motor is also accommodated in the closed vessel for rotating the rotary shaft to drive the compression mechanism. An oil supply pipe is secured to a lower end of the rotary shaft to draw the lubricating oil contained in the oil sump to the compression mechanism. A generally cylindrical partition wall is formed in the oil sump so as to encircle the oil supply pipe and has a plurality of holes to allow the lubricating oil to pass therethrough. The generally cylindrical partition wall may be replaced with a partition wall that laterally partitions the oil sump into two portions. It is preferred that the plurality of holes includes at least vertically spaced first and second rows of holes with the first row being positioned above the second row. Each hole of the first row has an area greater than the holes of the second row.

    • A hermetically sealed rotary compressor includes a generally cylindrical sealed vessel having an oil reservoir defined therein for accommodating a quantity of lubricating oil, a drive unit within the sealed vessel, and a compressor mechanism within the sealed vessel. The compressor mechanism includes a cylinder having a compression compartment defined therein and also having upper and lower openings, an eccentric cam provided on a crankshaft for rotation together therewith, and a ring-shaped piston mounted on the crankshaft while encircling the eccentric cam and capable of undergoing a planetary motion in contact with the eccentric cam during rotation of the eccentric cam. The cylinder has a refrigerant intake port defined therein in communication with the compression compartment. A radial vane is slidably accommodated in the cylinder for reciprocating movement in a direction radially of the cylinder and having a radial inner end held in sliding contact with an outer peripheral surface of the ring-shaped piston. An oil supply tube having first and second open ends opposite to each other is disposed with the first open end communicated with the oil reservoir and the second open end communicated with the compression compartment while a generally intermediate portion of the oil supply tube extends outside the sealed vessel.

    • A method of transferring full packages in a spinning frame having a plurality of spinning stations arranged in a row on each longitudinal side of the frame, a single run package transferring conveyor disposed between the opposite rows of the spinning stations and a doffing unit which provides doffing service at each spinning station while traveling around the machine, is provided herein. The doffing unit performs its doffing service at a station which calls for doffing of its full package only when a package is absent on the conveyor at a position corresponding to the station at which the doffing unit is then stopped, but it defers its doffing operation at the station if a package is present at said corresponding position on the conveyor. The conveyor is caused to move when the number of those packages which are undoffed due to deferment amounts to a predetermined value.

One end of the piping is connected to a common high pressure air source, from which air of a uniform pressure controlled by the regulator is supplied to the diaphragms belonging to the group. Since a weighting force onto a top side roller is a function of a air pressure supplied to the diaphragm, it can be changed or diminished at once in a centralized manner by adjusting the regulator. Therefore, troublesome adjustment of individual pressing units is unnecessary.
