The polarization hologram includes a first parting line defined in a direction optically corresponding to a radial direction as the optical disk rotates. A main beam M incident area is divided with a boundary defined by the first parting line. A sub beam A incident area and a sub beam B incident area are each arranged avoiding the first parting line.

摘要： When halting reproduction of an optical disc, the work memory stores identification information of the optical disc and halt position information thereof, and a contents data memory section stores information of reproduction contents. When resuming reproduction, a disc ID recognition section recognizes the identification information of the optical disc, and reads out the halt position information from the work memory, and reproduction operation is carried out from a halt position with the use of the reproduction content stored in the contents data memory section. During this, an initial process of the disc recording/reproducing section is carried out. Thereafter, reproduction from the optical disc starts uninterruptedly. This allows next reproduction of the information storage medium to start from the halt position at which the reproduction is halted. This also shortens latency time from a reproduction start instruction to actual start of the reproduction, when resuming the reproduction of the information storage medium.

摘要： To reduce the size and improve the power added efficiency of an RF power module having an amplifier element composed of a silicon power MOSFET, the on resistance and feedback capacitance, which were conventionally in a trade-off relationship, are reduced simultaneously by forming the structure of an offset drain region existing between a gate electrode and an n+ type drain region of the power MOSFET into a double offset one. More specifically, this is accomplished by adjusting the impurity concentration of an n− type offset drain region, which is closest to the gate electrode, to be relatively low and adjusting the impurity concentration of an n type offset drain region, which is distant from the gate electrode, to be relatively high.

摘要： An information recording-reproduction method wherein: upon reproducing, recorded information corresponding to a predetermined number of sectors from the leading sector of each of a plurality of information tracks on an optical disk is preliminarily stored on a buffer memory, and during a period in which the optical pickup is shifted to another information track, the recording information, stored in the buffer memory, is reproduced; and upon recording, during a period in which the optical pickup is shifted to another information track, recording information is temporarily stored in the buffer memory, and after completion of the recording, the recording information is recorded on the optical disk. In this method, information tracks, which are formed on the optical disk discontinuously with one .another, are regarded as if they were continuous tracks, and the apparent recording and reproducing operation is carried out continuously.

摘要： A recording medium includes a transparent substrate and a recording layer formed thereon for recording information, and a component made of material with a large loss factor, such as butyl rubber, bond magnet, etc. By suppressing recording medium vibration resonance from a recording and reproducing device, an improved frequency characteristic of a linear motor can be achieved, thereby enabling high access speed. Preferably, the large-loss material also provides a directional magnetic field which facilitates magneto-optical rewriting on the recording layer.

The apparatus has the first electro-magnet, used for the magnetic field modulation system, for generating an a.c. magnetic field which is reversed at a high speed. The apparatus has the second electro-magnet, used for the light modulation system, for generating a strong d.c. magnetic field such that power consumption coincides with that of the first electro-magnet.The second electro-magnet is integral with the first electro-magnet. The apparatus has a driver for selecting one of the electro-magnets in response to a switching signal, and the driver supplies power to the selected electro-magnet.

The magnetic head is supported out of contact with the magneto-optical recording medium and includes a slider and a head core. The end section is formed to be longer in the direction orthogonal to the tracks contained on the medium than in the direction parallel to the tracks.
